Hunt ADR is a very professional arbitration service. If you feel you have a good case against TUI, use them, because TUI will not assess your complaint properly. In our case TUI offered a £170 holiday voucher, (this is probably less than any profit they would make on a new booking!) and hoped we would go away. Talking to ABTA had no effect, they are both toothless and useless, so the final stage is Hunt ADR. Having worked for the Financial Ombudsman Service as an Arbitrator, Hunt ADR lived up to our expectations and delivered an impartial and comprehensive written adjudication outlining the facts of the case and the reason for their decision, which was a full refund of £3,500, within the time-frame outlined at the start of the process. If you have what you believe is a good case do not let TUI off the hook and do not hesitate to use Hunt ADR. The only criticism is that the whole process, from original complaint to TUI, through the waste of time that was ABTA, and Hunt ADRs processes, was very time consuming (not Hunt ADRs fault) and quite stressful, and no compensation for distress and inconvenience is available.

All aspects of my claim against TUI UK were awarded in my favour following ABTA arbitration conducted by Hunt ADR. The arbiter reviewed the clear evidence, the response from TUI and justified all 3 aspects of my claim by legal case precedents cited by the auditor. Claimants need to be IT competent .Loading evidence was easy, the format for responding to “respondents defence” was not so user friendly (inserting key information to address specific points) and could be improved. A key advantage of arbitration is it forces the respondent to address the issues raised. During my attempts to settle prior to arbitration TUI had repeatedly failed to do so In my case TUI finally acknowledged mistakes & have acted responsibly and as directed settled in full. It was also only fair that my settlement took into account my actual losses and aspects of stress caused. It’s taken a lot of time and energy , now almost 18 months to resolve what should have been settled long ago but good to have had back up of arbitration to finally get a fair resolution.
