Ordered for 3 day small domestic hire
Ordered for 3 day small domestic hire. Arrived early (9.30am) on the first day of hire, Able skip. All staff at circle and Able very helpful. I asked that skip be collected be 3 days later in order to clear my drive. Received calls the day before to confirm collection for 7 am the following morning. Very good experience and will use again.
Genuinely appalling customer service
Genuinely appalling customer service. I booked and paid for a skip. Was informed by email from a separate company (different name, different logo, different number) that ‘the website was wrong’ and that the skip that I had booked and paid for was not available. Also informed me that their pricing was also wrong and that I would need to pay an additional £30. I thought it was a scam so emailed back and heard nothing. Called today and was transferred THREE times. Was eventually told ‘I’m nothing to do with the website that’s a different department’. I informed Martins that I had booked builders and they simply didn’t care and was told ‘why don’t you just book it for tomorrow and pay the extra money?’. Truly appalling customer service. Be careful about using this company. I cancelled my order.
"World class customer service" hysterical !!
"World class customer service" - THATS A JOKE!! Avoid at all costs. No skips, terrible customer service but very quick at taking your money. Will be claiming my funds back as fraud through my bank!! Apparently using Circlewate Management as an agent - who are also ridiculous. AVOID AVOID AVOID
Terrible company to deal with
Terrible company to deal with. Never return phone calls. Speak to you with an attitude, customer need training. Say one thing and do another. Being a professional building company I use skips a lot and would NEVER EVER recommend this company . They don’t work to schedules and turn up when they want.
To date skip hire is 1.5 days late you ring their c
To date skip hire is 1.5 days late. You ring their customer service number who’s sales! Sales say they will put you through to customer services but all they do is put you in a 20 minute hold loop - this happened 6 times ie 120 minutes of my time on hold- I still don’t know if my skip which I paid £220 is going to be delivered at all and unless I want to spend another fiasco of ringing up and holding another half a dozen times there is no way of knowing. I am an OAP and have paid a man £75/day to load the skip for me - it is a disgraceful company for customer services!

Poor from the second you pay!
It all seemed good initially, if a little confusing, as you think you're calling a local company yet the member of staff have never heard of the area you are talking about. I dont know who Martins Skip Hire is as they had nothing to do with anyone I spoke to or the skip delivery. I was initially told I would need a permit for the skip, at an extra cost, but provided the company with proof via email that the private housing association who's land the skip was to be placed on were happy for it to be there for the one day we needed it. It was a house clearance following my Mums death, everything was ready to go and I had arranged for other people to help load it into the skip on that day. 10:30 ‐ we are all waiting, no sign of the skip. I, mistakenly, assumed that as I had requested same day collection it would there relatively early. I had cordoned off parking spaces especially, preventing the other elderly residents from parking close by. I called to ask its whereabouts - it takes 10 mins on hold before I get through, after which I am told that we're "next on the list" but the driver "is on a break" so it will be a few hours! Also, she had no idea that it was to be collected the same day, there was no collection date added despite me being very clear about this and giving the specific permission in writing. At 12:30 there was still no sign of it, so I called again. After another 10 mins in a queue, I was told, yet again, that we were next on the list and it could be up to an hour. Not only was this not good enough, I had no reason to believe them as they had already lied once. As it stood, the driver, who rocked up with a skip from ETM, arrived not long after. I have zero idea what ETM have to do with this. Really poor communication and service, and check out the list of things you cant put in the skip! Some things are obvious, but mattresses? Carpet? Whats a skip for if its not for the sort of stuff you cant put into your usual recycling or rubbish, or things you cant get to the local tip yourself!?? Also, there are many t&c's which will result in an extra charge, yet they can mess you about with impunity! I emailed the member of staff I had initially dealt with to complain, as I genuinely did not have the time or energy to sit on hold yet again, and I was ignored. So as they did not take the opportunity to respond I have to presume they dont care, therefore I am writing this review to make sure other people know that and dont make the same mistake I did. I would very much advise you call someone else. It will save you a lot of time and trouble.
This is a Scam Profile saying they…pretending to be a genuine company which exists but they are fake! Do not use
This is a Scam Profile saying they Martins Skip Hire, when infact they are a broker, pretending to be and therefore charging you more for the privilege. The broker is Circlewaste. Skip did arrive but from a different company. I only found out when I rang Martin’s of York osbaldwick to collect, they did try to collect only to inform me it wasn’t me of their skips and I had been duped and to contact the number on the side of skip. Philips of Selby answered and I told them what had happened and they said they were having issues with the broker as Martin’s not very happy, understandably…. But why are they still using this broker??
Smashed property
Neighbours hire Martins in York, driver smashed a £100 plant pot, part of a pair, very old. He got out, saw the damage, drove off. Witnessed by 3 people. Driver admitted to his boss that he did it when questioned. I've shown them one for sale at £95, 400 miles from where I live. After almost 6 months they have offered me £47.50 and told me to travel to the office to collect it as they won't even post it. I will be taking this further. Just need to find their insurance company and deal with them direct. Still no apology!
