We got the A frame coop, we love it. It’s nice to feel our chickens are secure when we go to bed. We dug down about 4-6 inches and laid an apron of hard cloth. We put 4 inch tall pavers down to be the base of the structure. We filled in the Outside trench with gravel, to whisk the water away from the foundation. Inside the coop we laid down 6 inches of sand. Even when we have heavy rain the coop foundation stays high and dry.

We thought our walk-in chicken coop was expensive, but it was worth every penny. All through the assembly, our builder kept commenting on how well-made everything was, and how easily everything fit together. We, as "mere observers", agreed. So far, it has held together really well, and has not leaked during torrential rains. It has not flooded, either, since it is built with drainage in mind. All-in-all, we love our walk-in chicken coop...and so do our hens!

My husband and I purchased 2 different coops from Roost & Root this spring as we jumped into the world of chickens. We are very pleased with both. The quality is exceptional and the assembly instructions were very thorough. My husband is not fond of carpentry work but he actually enjoyed putting the coops together.

My wife and I love our coop. We found the coop to be quite small without the run extension but after purchasing the run everything has been great for our 4 hens. The coop has held up well so far here in Delaware and has seen a few bad storms already. We have moved our little coop around our yard and so far the predators haven't locked onto it yet. Fingers crossEd. Coop is built very well, assembly was easy, and it looks great. Feeder upgrade only works for few days before humidity or rain tend to stick everything together. Awesome coop for the money.

Best coop I have ever seen or owned. And customer service is spectacular. The door was damaged in shipment and they sent a replacement that day. It was so easy to set up by one person. We got the stand up coop with XL run for our 4 hens; they are now thoroughly spoiled. Living in the desert climate, this coop is well set up to ventilate the excessive heat and has plenty of room for the hens. If we decide to expand our flock, we are definitely buying from Roost and Root!
