Due to traffic the crew arrived slightly late. However they utilised another local crew and were ahead of schedule before we knew it. I asked if they were able to move a heavy self pack which they did. (As it was going to a ground floor) saving me the time and effort during an already stressful time. They finished ahead of schedule. Delivery was quick and efficient and arrived early. A great team. Thanks

Having had a quote from Armishaws’ during our quote gathering phase in preparation for our upcoming move, we opted to go with a different, lower quote. Having reached the point of offer made and accepted for both our sale and purchase and things progressing towards exchange etc, we decided it was time to ask for some packing materials (we had opted to pack ourselves). It was at this point, with only a few weeks to go to completion, that we learned that our selected company had decided to suspend their removals operations. With cap in hand we went back to Armishaws (who had been second on our shortlist originally) to see if they might be able to help us. They couldn’t have been more accommodating. Fantastic customer service from beginning to end from Chris and his team. The move itself was handled with ease and good humour by Darin and Gareth, who took everything in their stride including the awkward entrance to our drive at the new home (which on the estate agent pictures and our very limited recollection from just two visits for viewing should have been ok - but wasn’t!). They went above and beyond in getting everything out of the previous house, onto and off the truck and into the new house quickly and efficiently. If we were ever to think of moving again, then we would be turning to Armishaws without hesitation.

The first third is great. The sales guy was a really nice fellow and could have moved us to the moon if we wanted. As things were still touch and go, we specifically asked what the situation would be if our dates changed. "Don't worry", we were told. "Pay the deposit and become a preferred customer. We have access to 47 lorries and we will be able to move you". A really helpful man who even spoke to us out of office hours to provide us with information and give us options. Sorted. Big professional company. We went with Armishaws. The last third was the best. We were packed up extremely well by some great guys who really knew what they were doing. We were unloaded by a fantastic team of two (one from the load). The lorry was too big to get in the driveway and they had to park on the road and walk everything in. All three were professional, friendly, courteous and personable. Nothing broken or lost but they do eat an incredible amount of chocolate hobnobs!! I wish I could remember their names as these guys deserve a mention..!! Now the middle third. This is where it all goes wrong. Our move out date stayed the same but our move in date moved by 24 hours. No problem we thought, we can just phone up and it will be fine. How wrong we were. The phone was answered by a gruff voice. A voice belonging to someone that you know is going to be unhelpful, unemphatic and hard work to deal with. Well, you'd have thought we had asked him to move us to the moon! Absolutely no way could they accommodate this change especially with only a week to go. This was all our fault and we should not have booked until we had actually exchanged contracts. But what about being a preferred customer and the 47 lorries at their disposal? They were all booked on other jobs. There was more to our exchange but we were shouting at each other. I am quite happy to talk to people in the same manner as I am spoken to. He was going to have to stand personnel down for half a day and this was going to cost us. Still not sure where the half days came in to the equation as a 24 hour delay does not produce any half days. The next time we had to speak to Armishaws was to confirm the date. My wife decided that she would do the talking as I had been far too rude the man in the office. She wasn't far in to the conversation when she understood why I had been "rude". The gruff voice was now being gruff with her. We had no choice but to pay an additional £1,000 for the 24 hour delay. That was just under a THIRD of the original price. If the gruff voice found work for the guys he stood down for the half day then we could have that back. Clearly he didn't manage to. I tried a number of times to contact the sales guy to see if he could he could get involved but he never answered. He must add confirmed customers' numbers to a "Do Not Answer" list on his phone. So, make your own mind up but I wouldn't use them again or recommend them to anyone. As in many cases, the guys on the ground who do the grunt are due 5 stars but are let down by their managers who really deserve nothing.

The timing was booked differently to what we had been told but when they arrived we had Darin and Gareth who were exceptional. They were professional, worked tirelessly and we wish we had them on our 6 previous house moves! Nothing damaged, nothing was too much and they were awesome, Thankyou.

Excellent customer service from the off. Solid, professional communication throughout and very friendly movers. It's not often you get this level of care and attention in my experience, but I'd 100% use these again.

We recently had to move from Taunton to Surrey, with most of our possessions to be put into storage. Of the companies we contacted, Armishaws came over as the most professional. Come the week of removals the Armishaws team of Ben, Dave, Steve and Aiden handled the whole project with efficiency, professionalism and good humour. It was a pleasure to work with them, nothing seemed to faze them or to be too much trouble. We would not hesitate to use Armishaws again or to recommend their service. Faultless from start to finish.

Lovely crew including Darren and Gareth - the whole team did an excellent job of packing and moving my home into storage over two days. Darren and Gareth are ninjas at fitting a lot of heavy boxes into a small storage space.
