The worst experience ever!
I don't even know where to start with this. The year is 2024. At the beginning of October, I purchased two sofas from Barker and Stonehouse in Leeds. By that time, they were promoting a "pre-Christmas delivery guarantee." During the purchase process, we selected a fabric that was available in their fabric samples but not in their system. A salesperson in the store assured us that since the fabric we chose was for a snugger, which is not a large sofa, it should be fine for the suppliers to serve our order. He consulted with someone who I believe was the manager, and we proceeded with the purchase. The salesperson also pressured us to purchase insurance. Although we were initially hesitant, we ultimately agreed out of pressure. It turned out I found here many complaints about it. I regret that choice. Anyway, the estimated delivery date for our sofas to be delivered was the end of November, given a six-week delivery timeframe. The salesperson mentioned there could be slight delays due to the fabric, but assured us that it would definitely arrive before Christmas. However, at the beginning of December, I received a call from their aftersales team informing me that the sofas were delayed and would not be delivered until the end of January!—almost four months after the purchase. Throughout this time (today is 28/01/2025), I attempted to inquire about their policy on compensation for delays, but their responses were always vague. I have been kept in the completely dark. They kept saying, "We will discuss the issue when the sofa arrives in our stock." There were no updates provided, not even through email whether the supplier confirmed the sofa will be ready or not. NOTHING! I even asked for a contact email for management to address a complaint, but they refused to give me the manager’s name. They gave the first name of the person who "sees the emails". I find it quite absurd that I have spent thousands of pounds on a product, yet it was up to me to seek updates on my extremely delayed order. It feels as though they are doing me a favour! Today is January 28th, 2025, and they promised that the sofas would arrive in stock by January 31st, with delivery to follow. To be honest, I really doubt this will happen. In my experience living in various countries across Europe and the Americas, I have never encountered such poor customer service. I wish I had paid attention to what other customers who left one- or two-star reviews had said about this company. It shocked me to see so many similar experiences. Since I was not provided with a specific channel to address my complaint, I feel it's necessary to make it public.

Great delivery from Marty and Ish (Blaydon). We got a 2 hour window and then a call shortly before arrival. Delivery was smooth and speedy. Just what I would expect though when you are charged extra for it! And very happy with our new chair - which arrived in a shorter time than estmaited

Excellent Delivery Team
When I ordered my Table & Chairs in October I was told they would be delivered before Christmas. I didn’t receive any lead times so I called up to be told it would be sometime in January I would be receiving the items. I was a little annoyed but understood they’d probably be busy over the festive period. Nevertheless here we are on the 28th January and my Table & Chairs have finally arrived. A huge shout out to Marty & Ish from Blaydon who delivered the items in excellent condition. They called me half an hour before arriving to give me the heads up. When they got here they assembled the table with care by using protective sheets and also got rid of all packaging. They were a very quick and efficient duo.
