Ready to choose and order some furniture for one reception room (with another in mind too) and hoping to avoid the need for a trip to any other suppliers, we made our first visit to John Doe, at Diss. A terrific and essentially immaculate showroom, spacious and very attractively laid out and very well maintained. (A lovely coffee shop is a really nice facility too). Whoever is responsible for all this certainly deserves credit. Unfortunately, our experience was very poor and disappointingly didn’t at all match the presentation. It seemed strange that there was little proper engagement, when we were clearly keen to purchase. Looking at other reviews they seem to be from a different planet. One simple and basic item - no-one introduced themselves by name. A name badge on a lanyards (when actually worn) remained turned over, so were facing the sales person not the customer. Perhaps we were just unlucky with the people we met, who clearly must have had better things to do or other things to to occupy them - although it wouldn’t appear to be associated with customers, as I doubt if there were more than 6 customers in store in the afternoon when we visited. Having left, somewhat frustrated, we gave things one last chance with a contact with sales the next day, but this then proved to be inconsistent with some of the information already given. (To add ‘insult to injury’ we were also directed to a web page which turned out to have an ‘under construction’ message). Annoyed and frustrated, at having wasted our time going over to Diss, we then contacted the manufacturers, to ask for details of other suppliers. We then went to another supplier. The contrast was amazing. Helpful, pleasant knowledgeable staff and able to directly answer our queries, it was a delight and not surprisingly we immediately ordered our furniture. Following detailed contact from Nathan, which I appreciated, I now feel that this was an unfortunate and extraordinary event that we had sadly experienced and that it should never happen again. I would now visit again in the future with an expectation of good customer service.

Went to John Doe in Diss Norfolk after a disastrous encounter with another well known company in Norwich.. What a different attitude, we felt we were valued customers.. Tina helped us make sure we chose exactly what we wanted, never rushed us bought endless examples of materials, pointed out things we hadn’t thought of.. she also stayed over the shop closing time to finish paperwork we took so long to choose but she never became impatient with us ( we both wanted different things.. ) we finally chose a settee and chair recliners we both liked and looking forward to them arriving. John Doe was recommended by someone I was chatting to about my experience with my previous purchase we had made (which we returned in the end) they had also had a disastrous encounter with a different supplier in Norwich.. so we popped into John Doe.. glad we did, I feel confident any issues will be dealt with just as kindly should any arise.. but I’m sure they won’t. The person who recommended us to this company was delighted with them too…

Great showroom with ample parking. Stocking a very large range of furniture for all rooms, soft furnishings, accessories, carpets/vinyls/wood flooring. Staff very helpful when needed and friendly. Easy to order from and has a bargain area too. The instore cafe is great with a good menu. (The toilets are clean).

It is a pleasure to shop at John Doe. A wide range of goods to suit everyone but, more importantly, such friendly, helpful and kind staff willing to go the extra mile to satisfy.

We were allowed to look, unhindered, at furniture and offered assistance when required. We did not feel pressured by over enthusiastic sales staff. The range of furniture was large and varied with multiple finishes for each range.
