Got the bus from Dublin to Slane
Got the bus from Dublin to Slane. Couldn’t have been organised any better. A great set up to get onto the bus & a well organised great set up after the concert. It all ran very smoothly.

Excellent!
Recently used Marathon coaches for a concert in Malahide Castle. It made the whole experience more enjoyable knowing I had guaranteed transport to and from the venue. Very efficient service, would highly recommend

100% Recommend
Booked for one of the Malahide summer gigs and 100% made the experience so much better. Just show up, show your barcode and get your wristband and straight onto the bus, separate exit to coaches on way out and back into town in 35 minutes. Buses were clean, not over filled and drivers were very nice. €25 return and worth every penny! Will use again and again!

Waited for an hour, badly managed
Bus out to Marlay Park went really smoothly so had expected the bus back to be the same, my mistake! Waited for a good hour for the bus after Dermot Kennedy at Marlay Park on 23rd June. Queue was massive, not signposted at all & staff just standing around not wanting to be asked anything, so had to just assume you were in the right place until you get up near the top & then someone does a quick check for wristbands. When we were close to the top of the queue we saw 2 guys skip the whole queue, staff half-heartedly redirected them past the bus, and then just as the bus was full they let the 2 guys on while the rest of us continued to wait in line. I expect this happened a lot that we hadn’t seen ourselves which would have added to the wait times for the rest of us. So badly managed despite there seemingly being lots of staff around & really disappointing for a paid service to make people wait so long for buses to go to Dundrum luas stop…. You knew how many people had tickets & the drive to the luas is short enough so there should have been coaches constantly arriving & leaving. There were lots of families with young kids who I felt bad for having to wait so long, made more annoying by seeing people skip the queue. If you want to be the preferred private operator for all these events & charge enough for the service then you have to actually provide a good service… We’re lucky it wasn’t lashing rain or cold or that wait would have been unacceptable. Wouldn’t recommend & would try to avoid using them again to be honest.

Excellent service!!
Used Marathon Coaches for Blur in Malahide on 24th June. Absolute pleasure, fantastic service, friendly staff, plenty of signs at the venue to find your way back to the pick up. As soon as the buses were full, they were moved on and immediately replaced for others. Quick transit to and from the venue. Highly recommended, I only found Marathon after another coach company had cancelled on me with a week to go but I will always choose Marathon from now on.

Excellent customer information/service
We didn’t actually use the coach in the end, driving instead. However, the customer service from Marathon was excellent, very good at keeping you informed throughout and I noticed, at the concert venue, they were very well signposted for their passengers for the return trip to Dublin.

Avoid - Look for alternative transport
I had booked a ticket for the buses that travelled from Marlay Park to Dundrum Luas Station on 23rd June. After leaving the Dermot Kennedy concert, I got to the bus queue. It was a huge queue, with no signage, so made the assumption I was in the right queue. I waited 2 hours to get a bus, and they weren't even checking if we had a booking. This leads me to think multiple people got on the previous buses, causing the huge queues and delays. Either way, the entire setup was a farce. I don't mind waiting, I don't expect everyone to get a bus immediately. But 2 hours and no updates was ridiculous. Genuinely will never book a bus again like this from a concert. Advice to anyone going to Marlay Park in the future - try organise a taxi/lift, and have it park 20-30 minutes away from the site. You'll get home much quicker.

Long wait
Very unhappy with the return journey from Dermot Kennedy on Friday 23rd June. We waited for way more than an hour, we really thought we would miss the last luas from dundrum. The buses were few and far between even though you knew how many tickets had been sold. The journey out was better, still a long queue, but moved a bit quicker

Worst concert transport
Worst concert transport. Would never use again. Went straight to bus collection point immediately after show (blur) no buses. Staff had no answers and did not like being asked for info. Would never trust again. After an hour waiting, no sign of any buses or update from staff, gave up and got a taxi.
