I ordered gold coins for a total of $199,768.92 on August 2,2024 & wired the funds on August 5. Doug Eberhardt said he would receive the Gold in four weeks and send it out to us in about five weeks. I spoke to him over the phone September 6 & he said he would be sending the gold out in about a week. Since then - he has accepted no calls from us and not responded to email. I have reported this to the Better Business Bureau and I’m in the process of hiring a lawyer.

I paid for $377,615 in Gold and Doug Eberhardt at BGSS used my money to cover his own trading losses instead of paying his wholesaler for my Gold. Last week, Doug Eberhardt admitted to a (very credible) witness that he used my money to cover "liquidity issues" from his own trading losses. The witness then informed me and stands ready to testify. My order is more than three months old. Doug strung me along for 2.5 months with multiple emails saying "the mint is slow but no need to worry". Then he quit communicating and refuses to answer emails or phone calls. After the first 2 weeks of being ghosted and dodged, I finally contacted the witness (who referred me to BGSS and Doug Eberhardt in the first place). The witness called Doug via phone and Doug confessed to him. I have receipts, emails, wire transfer documents, witnesses etc. Everything I need to prove this.

So I called buygoldandsilversafely.com today to get some pricing on some gold and silver coins with the intention to buy several thousand dollars worth of gold and silver. A guy answers the phone, says he's the owner. Proceeds to give me a long winded pitch about his website and his review ratings, etc. We start talking about his website and the fact that it's not updated. Again another long winded speech about his old webmaster... yada... yada... yada. We finally get into pricing and I come to find that his 1% over wholesale is not true by the pricing he is giving me. I am specifically looking for pricing on certain coins and rounds. After about the 3rd asking price, he tells me something about his parents who are 80 something years old and waiting for him, so he doesn't have time to go over pricing, after which I respond that I am looking to spend several thousand dollars, so it would be a good idea to give me an idea of what he's charging. Then the guy hangs up. Stay away from this clown show. You could have had a new client today pal, but instead you decided to be a schmuck. Beware of talkers as they are usually liars. So after 4 attempts someone finally answers the phone. They knew I had just placed an order for an ounce of gold coing, and 20 silver coins. I had then received an email from them stating they only take checks and wire transfers. I wondered what was up because I had just "paid" for it using my bank card using funds from my checking account. They said that was just to hold the transaction until I could send a check or wire transfer. I said I felt mislead because I was already lead to believe I paid for the metals with my debit card making an online banking payment. They don't do that because they would have to charge me 2-3% for using the card. What they means is, THEY get charged 2-3% which they will then pass on to me. My very first time buying gold, I was already skeptical about scams, bait-and-switch, gouging, etc. So, I thought I'd think it over, maybe find a way to pay. I said I wanted to cancel my order. In a heartbeat, literally, the guy went from sweetheart to jacka$$, telling me I should have read their info on the website, yada, yada. I was trying to think of some other way to transact when he kept talking over me, then hung up on me. Wow. I mean...wow. I had no idea professional gold sales was like this. And this is a place that makes $60 profit on every coin they would have sold me. I agree with the previous reviewer that said these are nasty people to deal with. You're probably okay with 90% of the transactions. I even went back to their website for a half hour looking for their instructions that outline you "hold" with your credit card, you "pay" by check or wire transfer. It's probably in their website somewhere, but I didn't find it. They're probably honest, I don't know. But if a misunderstanding goes south, and you want to reconsider, wow, they get REAL unpleasant, REAL fast. What's that expression? Oh yeah, "buyer beware!"
