Ian hit September 28. Still waiting for desk adjuster to call.

Ian hit September 28. Called in claim September 30. Waited nearly 3 weeks for inspector to show up. OK, understandable. Now, still waiting for someone to call us to know what is getting covered, when we can start getting repairs made. Calling each week and they just keep saying someone should be calling us any day.

The SLOW Response Peoples Trust Ins Co

I filed a claim a few days after hurricane Ian hit SW Florida. After the initial acknowledgement of claim being filed there has been absolutely no contact from adjustor for well over a month to inspect the property or submitting information concerning claim. No response from adjustor assigned to claim, calls went unanswered and mailbox was full. An adjustor finally showed up, outa the blue, one morning. To his credit, the adjustor did do a comprehensive evaluation of all damages; took lots of notes, photos, etc.... and hopefully a fair evaluation of the claim will be processed. Fingers crossed!!!

Stay away from People's Trust Insurance

I have filed two claims in the 35 years I have owned my home. Both claims have been with People's Trust. I had major problems with my roof and they just want to patch my roof. That would have looked horrible because my old roof was about 14 yrs old. I also had fungus under my home in the crawl space. I was told I had coverage in my plan but they said that it wasn't covered. They want your premium but they won't pay at all or the very least they think they can get away with as in my roof. Stay away! I am in litigation about my roof because I couldn't just patch my roof. This will be you too if you ever have to file a claim.

Ripoff company with terrible Customer Service!

We have had coverage with PTI for about 7 years. No claims! In that time our premium has increased more than triple the original quote! Notice in other reviews here that PTI always explains their rate increase by basically saying "We're sorry. Everybody is raising ins rates in FL." In other words, we're raising our rates because we can get away with it! PTI customer service is a joke! Yesterday I talked to someone from their "customer service" and I told him that our governor would agree that PTI rates are too high! His response? "There are no political comments allowed!"

Clueless

I got a quote for HO insurance and paid for the policy. The company wanted to send an inspector out to do a Five Point inspection. No problem. Problem. Not really sure whether the underwriters or the inspector is the problem, but it makes for a clueless group, all of which are hiding for fear of an attempted logical conversation. The inspector had 5 erroneous entries which he submitted to the company. They cancelled the policy due to the poor condition of my roof, sighting differing colors of tiles indicating patching, therefore the entire roof needs to be replaced. What, It's a 35yr tile roof that isn't even 18 years old. Upon review of the pics the roof is fine, what they are looking at is clean vs dirty tiles from where I had leaking solar pool heating panels removed. How such incompetent people can have jobs is beyond me. They won't talk to you for fear they might have to confront how dumb they really are. Took my payment quickly, got to wait 3-4 weeks to get a refund. Really great group, run don't walk.

I just got a call from my insurance…

I just got a call from my insurance agent that People's Trust Insurance is cancelling my Home insurance after 10 years with no claims. I supported this company because it's local, how is that for customer appreciation. Shameful.

I am at the back end of my unusual…

I am at the back end of my unusual claim which was a well hit by lightning. Jennifer Quinones was so professional and reasonable I would recommend this company to everyone based on her handling of my claim.

Buyer beware!

Buyer beware!! My father passed away in June. His home was sold and I notified People’s Trust on 9-1 to cancel his home owners insurance. It is now 9-27 and I am still getting the run around. I have given them all documents required to cancel the insurance but they won’t give me their cancellation form to sign and return. I have called numerous times, emailed to a C Boyd numerous times and don’t even get a response. I have a 4 month refund due to be paid back to me. I don’t understand what the problem is other than they don’t want to refund the money. This is one of the worst companies I ever dealt with.

Raised my homeowners insurance payment…

Raised my homeowners insurance payment after 2 years from $945 to $2540. When I called and asked for the reason, the respond given was due to my demographic. Which means my race, age, sex, income, address, etc. I now have a new policy with major insurance carrier that I know I can depend on in time of need at a much lower cost.
