total apathy

We purchased a sofa from this company in early February 2016 and were led to believe the lead time would be 6-8 weeks. So we thought worst case we would receive our sofa early April. As we passed this date still having heard nothing I called the company only to be told they were busy and the button person was sick so our sofa was delayed and were not able give any idea of a date, but expected at least a further 2-4 weeks. They promised to return my call but never did. My wife also called later that day and was given the same blank answer and again a promise to call back but no call was received. We then thought well we'll leave it for the 2-4 weeks. We then received a letter saying the sofa was ready, and someone would be in touch to arrange delivery. After 4 days I called and was told that the sofa was still waiting to be collected by the delivery company and then they would be in touch. Apparently they only collect on a Tuesday. I then thought having heard nothing again I'd call on the following Thursday to get the delivery company details and speak to them directly to arrange a convenient time. I was then told that they were not sure which of 2 companies had the sofa. In fact it was not actually confirmed that the sofa had been collected. I was told as soon as the sales team who apparently all take the same lunch hour return I would get a call back within the hour to let me know who had it. No call came. So 3 hours later I called again and was told this time everyone was busy and as soon as the man on the phone could interrupt someone to ask he would call me back. Again no call back. But whenever I have called the number on the website I get through straight away, so I am either incredibly lucky or am just being given the brush off. So due to phone calls obviously making no difference I emailed them on their website email saying how disappointed I was and feel I have no alternative other than to cancel my order and have a refund. Unsurprisingly I have heard nothing. Well at least their consistent. This company has a very attractive easy to use website, but unfortunately you don't have to scratch the surface too deep to find they are sadly lacking in any form of customer serviceand communication skills.In fact totally indifferent, apparently your £1000+ purchase is not a high priority to them. All I can advise to anyone thinking of using this company is don't.

Absolutely delighted

We ordered sofas and were initially quoted an eight to ten week lead time. Two weeks later I got a call offering delivery the following week. Delivery team were fabulous: meticulous, experienced and able to deal with our rather challenging flat layout. We ordered an armchair, a three seater sofa bed and a three and a half seater sofa - all beautifully made and very comfortable. I would (and indeed have) highly recommend.

So impressed!

I could not be more delighted with the service that I've had from the Chesterfield Company. I ordered two sofas and an armchair from the Astoria range - we were slightly nervous about buying without actually sitting on them but fell in love with the look of this range online. Three weeks later our sofas were delivered and are even better than I had dared to hope: solidly constructed, comfortable and simply beautiful. The delivery team were incredibly helpful and very proficient. All in all I am very impressed and would highly recommend. Thank you very much.

From the very first order i could not have been looked after any better, nothing but a great experience was given to my wife and myself, and the products were even better than the picture we seen them for the first time, the delivery guy's were exactly the same, altogether a great experience. i hope you all have a great holiday this Christmas and all the best in the new year.

Extremely happy with purchase and service!

Excellent website easy to use, The opportunity to order up to 6 free samples of leather which is important that you do as the quality of the leather varies according to price. We paid the extra for the premium aniline in teak on the Henley sofa & chair and it was worth every penny! Smells lovely too! The build quality is second to none. You really do get what you pay for. The customer service is excellent, the 2 man delivery team were friendly and efficient, they also helped my husband move our old sofa to another room! When we refurbish our 2nd reception room in the new year I will be ordering more from this company

Perfect sofa and delivery

Love the sofa in terms of style and quality - always a bit of a risk when buying online without seeing the sofa - however it was excellent in every way - delivery slots and communications with the company were first class too. Very very pleased!
