Amazing

I gained so much more confidence in my education by having access to an amazing mentor who helped me throughout sixth form. The platform offered me so many amazing experiences to broaden my academic knowledge and prepare me for university.

Prospective medicine student

I’m Isabella, a prospective medical student currently doing my alevels in biology, chemistry and maths, and provided that I meet my offer, I will be studying medicine at Downing college Cambridge later this year (otherwise I will be studying medicine at the equally as brilliant University of Manchester!). I truly cannot put into words how grateful I am for my mentor in preparing for both my Cambridge interviews and for my other interviews with different universities. She had personal experience and each week we practised challenging and fascinating interview questions that she had tailored specifically. Because of this, on my actual interviews I was so much more at ease and it felt like a really familiar situation so I’m incredibly grateful for her time and the opportunity from Zero Gravity.

Experience with Zero Gravity

Zero Gravity is one of the best outreach programmes out there for getting disadvantaged groups into top universities. Not only, are you given a mentor that is from the specific university that you want to apply to, so you can get all of the top tips for applying to that specific university but you also have the Zero Gravity community, which is a community of students essentially helping each other out if that’s in terms of how to apply to university or how student life is like. Zero Gravity is a very welcoming community of people who are very supportive of the goals that you have both personally and academically. My mentor made me feel very comfortable throughout our time together, with them demystifying the university application system and looking over my personal statement and giving feedback which was the most helpful! If you are eligible for Zero Gravity, I would 100% apply! It is incredibly useful and will definitely increase your chances into getting into the top universities as it did with me.

My mentor has been very helpful in my A level studies

My mentor has been very helpful in my A level studies. Her name is Beenash and she has helped me, in our Zero gravity call almost every week, to improve my personal statement, to improve my ucas application and she has helped with my ucas choices. She especially helped in my many interviews for social work as it is a very demanding course. Zero gravity has been excellent in mentoring me and improving my A level experience by providing me with help outside of school hours which has boosted my A level performance. When I was first matched with Beenash in zero gravity, I was failing all my subjects and I had attained a D as the lowest grade, in all of them. However, with the help of Zero gravity and my mentor, I am now on As and Bs in all my subjects- philosophy, sociology, geography.

Zero Gravity :)

I'm Ishan and I'm studying medicine at Bristol next September, after being rejected my first time. I had no support or access to connections before joining Zero Gravity. The resources from ZG for UCAT preparation and interview skills alongside other medics providing tips and masterclasses has boosted my confidence and helped me improve drastically. Before Zero Gravity, I doubted if I was able enough to apply for medicine, but the platform members, opportunities, resources shared, and my mentor made me believe in myself. I've had an incredibly supportive experience from this platform and my mentor to apply to medicine. In specific, I appreciated that other medics and other applicants gave so much advice that I never received from school. My mentor prepared me for both admission tests (BMAT and UCAT) teaching me questions that I was unable to answer. Moreover, he prepared me for interviews and boosted my knowledge and confidence to perform well in my interviews. We had weekly sessions to recap and learn new things to do for preparation. He helped me prepare a personal statement tailored to my university which significantly helped me receive an interview. Finally, he helped me selectively research universities to have a better chance at receiving an interview invite. I am forever grateful to my mentor and Zero Gravity for providing such immense support and kind help.

Zero Gravity

Zero Gravity has been a very useful platform during my sixth form experience. I would really recommend it for anybody during the application process and preparing for university. In my experience my mentor was kind and informative. If you need help with your personal statement and choosing the best universities for you they provide advice and the platform offers you support through master classes. It really gave me the confidence to push myself to apply for top universities. The opportunity to win a scholarship for engagement was a huge motivator for revising harder so if you need that extra push I would sign up.

Such an amazing platform

My ZeroGravity mentor was instrumental to the success of my UCAS application. Since being paired with her in the summer before Year 13, I've gained so much insight and confidence in making big decisions about university. Having a passionate mentor to offer me wisdom and support at a very busy time in Year 13 made the application process much less daunting. When I received 5/5 offers from Russel Group universities including Oxford, it felt amazing to share the success with her and the rest of the ZeroGravity community platform. It's been an incredible journey, and I'd love to continue to contribute when I'm at university.
