Disappointing
We bought a print from collectors prints in December and it arrived as promised before Xmas and was well packaged, we were delighted. Unfortunately everything went down hill thereafter. We noticed a fault with the print and contacted them to report this and duely returned the print for inspection. After a period of time we were informed that it would need to be returned to the publishing house who then stated that it would need to go to an external company for reglazing. Despite the time taken to get to this point we were happy for this to go ahead and looked forward to getting the print back. More time passed and nothing really happened despite frequent communication from us for updates. Eventually we had good news and the print would be delivered (hooray). The day before delivery I got a phone call stating that on re inspection another inperfection had been spotted and the picture would need to be returned for deglazing yet again. On hearing this we finally gave up, not believing that this picture would ever be returned to us in perfect condition and got a full refund. We are very disappointed as we loved the print but we had got to the point of just not believing anything that we were being told and for this reason we would not use collectors prints for any further purchases.

Delays and dishonesty!
I will summarise my experience, which has resulted in a 1 star review, below: -On 2nd February I ordered a limited edition piece of art from the Collectors Prints website - my wife and I were not fans of the recommended frame and so ordered the unframed version (which their website stated was in stock) -On the 5th February I received an e-mail from one of their E-Commerce Managers advising an estimated date of 14 days for my delivery -On the 8th February I received an e-mail stating they were allocating stock and would update me when the item was ready to dispatch -On the 12th February I received another e-mail from the same E-Commerce Manager advising that they were still waiting for my artwork from the publishing house (which I found strange seeing as the website said in-stock when I ordered) -On the 18th February, the E-Commerce Manager e-mailed me to say the artwork had been received safely and it was scheduled to be dispatched on the 22nd. -On the 19th February I received a phone call from the E-Commerce Manager - she advised me that she had the artwork but that it arrived framed, and as such, they would have to increase my price… the good news (as she put it) was they would charge 50% of what the frame usually costs, meaning I’d only need to pay another £80! I explained that whilst the discount was a nice offer, it’s an extra £80 for something I didn’t want. I then asked why they couldn’t just remove the frame. The lady advised that they would never remove a frame as the art would undoubtedly be damaged in the corners and would have staple holes from the framing process. As such, I asked for a refund which was processed immediately (a little two quickly for my suspicious mind). I then spent the afternoon phoning other art galleries to see if I could find an unframed version, but had no joy. In the end, I phoned the E-Commerce Manager back and asked if she could provide the framed version to me for an extra £50 as opposed to £80 - I wasn’t happy to spend any additional amount but I was trying to come to an arrangement where I didn’t feel like I was being completely ripped off. The E-Commerce Manager advised that she would sell me the piece for an extra £50 but Collectors Prints would remove and retain the frame… I asked why I couldn't have the unframed version for the price I had originally paid... apparently the £50 would be used to cover the removal of the frame! This was only a couple of hours after she flatly refused to remove the frame due to the likelihood there would be damage. I said I’d have to think about it (I would have told her to stick it but I really wanted the artwork) - I also asked her to put it aside for the weekend to ensure someone else didn’t purchase it whilst I considered what I wanted to do - she said that as she had refunded me there was no way of holding the artwork! To add salt to the wound, she then followed up with an e-mail advising me that she had confirmed with the publisher that Collectors Prints had the last remaining piece, and she would hate for me to miss out! So, to recap, Collectors Prints sold me a piece of art as unframed, and after making me wait two weeks, offered me the option to have the exact same piece for an extra £50 whilst also pointing out that it’ll probably have some damage from being unframed. To top this off, the lady I spoke to at Collectors Prints came across as very dishonest, and whilst she was polite, offered terrible customer service. In the end, I phoned Riverside Galleries who had a framed version in stock (so Collectors Prints didn’t have the last piece after all)… Sean from Riverside very kindly unframed it and sold it to me for less than what Collectors Prints were offering. The artwork arrived three days later in great condition… whilst you can see the staple holes, these are minuscule and will be well hidden when I get this in a frame that I do like!

As a first time customer of Collectors…
As a first time customer of Collectors Prints I must say that I have very mixed views about this Company and would probably not purchase anything from them or Artique Galleries in the future. The initial purchase of an expensive sculpture went well, but the subsequent return due to a defect has been problematic to say the least. Communication is practically non-existent and emails not acknowledged. Although a replacement sculpture was eventually sent after much ado, the original was not collected. Luckily for Collectors Prints, and being an honest person, I reminded them a month later and they finally collected. However, all other emails have been ignored by managers and even the director of the Company. All in all my wife and I feel very disappointed to say the least.
