Excellent service from Bramwell…

Excellent service from Bramwell International to repair my 8 year old Meindl Island boots. If I'd known that this service existed I would have had the previous pair repaired when I eventually wore through the Vibram soles. For just over £100 the outer sole and the shock absorbing foot bed sole were replaced arriving with new inners soles and laces. Very happy indeed. The service from Hilda was excellent and although a 12 week lead time is quoted due to the shipping issues we all experience to Europe, they came back a couple of days early. I really don't get the negative reviews on here about Meindl Boots, they are the best boots I've ever owned and have never once leaked. A tip for people who have broken through the Goretex layer CUT YOUR TOENAILS!!! It is not just Meindl who won't guarantee the Goretex element for the same reason. I would still be on my first pair of Islands if I knew I could have what is really a full rebuild for a mere £100.

James, credit to the company

James is fantastic, nothing is too much trouble. Answered all my questions on boot care and made sure he got the right answer by confirming with colleagues. Very quick replies and extremely polite.

Frustrating.

Frustrating. Accounting for the alleged Brexit delay on getting my boots to and from Germany for repair (increased from 4 to 8 weeks), I'm still waiting for my boots and it's been almost 10 weeks. Communication from Bramwell has been poor; I have had to do all the running to get any information. Bramwell now blame the carrier for the delay and tell me my boots are on their way back, having never made it to Meindl! Getting information from Bramwell is like pulling teeth; they hide behind data protection laws and lack of information from the carrier, and continue to use Brexit as an excuse for poor performance. That is simply not on. They claim they have had boots sent out, repaired and returned both before and after my boots were sent away. How long should I wait for Bramwell to accept they've lost my boots? 12 weeks? 13? Seriously - how long would anyone wait before starting a claim? Bramwell: Please up your game. I remain hopeful this situation can be resolved.

Very poor service from Amanda…

Very poor service from Amanda Bainbridge. My meindl vakuum boots were prematurely failing and without any hesitation she decided it was wear and tear that the soles was falling off is perfectly normal. She wanted £85 and a 8 week wait for the pleasure. Being a stubborn mess with poor judgement and righteousness Amanda wasn’t letting me get a word in and luckily for her she had a answer for everything in order to not fix the boots under warranty. So I took them back to go outdoors who swapped them immediately without hesitation. Maybe bramwells can be very good because not all the reviews are bad or maybe Amanda is just evil old witch who hates being helpful. Either way, screw you Amanda. I’m off for a walk in my new boots now.

Meindl boot resoling service

Meindl boot resoling service. Sent my 4 year old boots resoling via Bramwells. From home to home took 4 weeks. They sent the boots to Meindl in Germany who resoled them, added new insoles and prvoided new laces. Came back to me in a Meindl box and are like new. £85 in total. Very happy

Excellent Service when things went wrong

I purchased a pair of Meindl walking boots some years ago but rarely wore them. Regrettably the adhesion of padding between the inner lining and outer leather became detached. Despite the boots being out of warranty Bramwell International returned the boots to Meindl who repaired them free of charge. The boots were returned to me within one month of me posting them to Bramwell. Excellent service from both Bramwell International and Meindl. If things go wrong it is such quality of service that counts. I will not hesitate to buy Meindl in future.

Shoddy boots

3 pairs and not 1 fit for purpose Bought a pair of meindl trento boots ,rrp £215, in September 2016. In February 2017 the stitching came away and they started to leak . I sent them back and meindl agreed it was their fault and would replace them..........6 months later they did at long last send a replacement. In May 2018 the replacement boots sole started to crack and crumble and again the boots started to leak around the stitching..again I sent them back to meindl ......again they agreed it was faulty workmanship and sent another replacement pair only took 6 weeks this time. Fast forward to October and the THIRD replacement pair started to leak........ again they were sent back and again meindl said it was a fault of theirs. For a supposedly world class company you would expect them to be able to at make least one pair of £200+ boots that were fit for purpose All I can say is AVOID this company at all costs

Absolutely dreadful service

Absolutely dreadful service. I bought my second pair of Meindl boots from them and within a few weeks of use the sole started to come away from the boot. They refuse to accept liability, to cover the cost of repair and are not willing to escalate the matter to the manufacturer. Shameful customer service
