Awful Customer Service, Poor Quality Dress
When I received my bridesmaid dress, the left strap was stitched incorrectly and was completely twisted. The wedding I was attending was in 2 weeks so they advised me to REPURCHASE the dress, but keep the current one until the replacement arrived. I would’ve had to pay customs AGAIN for the new dress, and all they could offer me was free shipping. They offered a full refund if I returned the faulty dress, but I would essentially be paying more because of the customs on the new dress. Make that make sense?? As per their refund policy on their website: “In the event that you have received an item with a minor fault, we will first attempt to replace or repair the item. If this is not possible you will be offered the option of a credit note. As per ACCC a refund for an item with a minor fault is at the companies discretion. If you receive an item which is deemed by Billy J as having a major fault. It is at the customers discretion to choose a replacement, store credit or a refund. If the item was purchased using a Gift Card, the amount will be credited back to the gift card and not refunded.” Where in the above does it say I have to return my product for a replacement, store credit, or a refund? If it’s on a different page, I’d recommend keeping your policies consistent on all pages of your website. I decided to get the current one altered to fix THEIR mistake. The most they could offer me was a 30% refund which doesn’t even cover the cost of my alternations. I do not recommend Billy J. The quality is appalling for what you pay for, and the customer service is laughable. UPDATE: Regardless of my faulty dress being sent in for alterations, I was not made aware that I would not have had to pay additional customs/duties on the replacement dress. This would have been an extra $50 on top of the $200 CAD I had spent already, it’s not a negligible amount. MANY businesses (eg, Knix) will eat the cost of their mistake and not hassle customers with the return of the faulty item; that is true customer service. If your brand strives to sell quality pieces, then this shouldn’t happen often and a once in a blue moon refund shouldn’t affect your revenue much, right? Even if you’re sloppily stitching your label on drop shipped items and selling them for double/triple the price (allegedly), y’all can afford a full refund, or at the very least, send a replacement. That partial refund didn’t even cover my alternation costs, can’t say I agree that customer satisfaction is your highest priority.

The whole process of ordering with Billy J was seamless. All of their pieces are stunning and come just as they are described on the website. My biggest struggle was deciding what I wanted to buy as there was so much choice! My order also came express within 2 days of purchasing. Quality of the clothing is also extremely high.
