This is a brilliant service
This is a brilliant service. I was literally sitting in the carshowroom typing in the car details. The salesman said it was a waste of money becuase they do a HIP for me but I've heard of people buying a car from a garage with a HIP only to find later that its fake! I was able to pick up from the HIP that the finance on the car had not been sorted. I was able to make sure that the finance was cleared before I purchased the car. You can also take out insurance for 30 days once the sale is complete from HIP. I would say that for £20 you are saving yourself a huge amount of hassle buy doing the HIP yourself. Don't rely on the seller to do it for you.

Fantastic
Fantastic. The most detailed information available. The new MOT feature is top notch. Costs more than some, but believe me, it is worth the extra money every time.
I, like you in all probability, though HPI was gospel. Beware. It isn't.
I, like you in all probability, though HPI was gospel. Beware. It isn't. The details matter to sellers and buyers so you need to do your own detailed research that HPI have the correct valuation. Here's my story I discovered my Ford Mondeo was wrongly listed on several sites (Parkers, Autotrader, HPI, WeWantAnyCar so far) and comes up with a £1,000 lower valuation. Most list it as a hatchback when it is an estate. But Ford do multiple horse power versions of the same engine units as well. Most publish the wrong engine horse power but HPI don't publish it at all. Both factors affect value a lot. On first contact by phone, HPI were adamant that I had to pay them to sort this out so I wrote a Trustpilot 1 star review and caught their attention quickly. Thank you Trustpilot. The upshot of that many days later was that HPI confirmed (at no charge) they had it correctly listed as an estate but they don't distinguish the engine variants. We all know Caveat Emptor menas Buyer Beware. I now know there is a latin saying for sellers; Caveat Venditor and that applies here.
