A few blunders and hidden costs
Overall the service and price was OK. I just wish Logitravel would send their staff to test the hotels and facilities before sending guests there. I hope people will take their time to read this review in full before booking through them. I am sure they will reply here, as soon as I have posted this, they haven't acknowledged my complaints yet. ISSUE 1. You booked us on the flight London Heathrow LHR Pekin PEK Airline booking reference: BQKAUZ Air China Saturday, 24 August 2019 Departure: 20:25 (Terminal 2) Arrival: 13:05 (Terminal 3) +1 day Estimated time between flights: 1h 10m. How did you ever think we could get from one plane to the other with estimated lay over of 1h10 minutes? We had only 20 or so minutes to spare and had to run like mad at the airport to make our flight to Bangkok. ISSUE 2 When we got to Bangkok airport, we waited a very long time for our luggage to turn up and that didn't happen. I filled a Property Irregularity Report at the airport. When we got to Rambuttri Village Inn, it was 9.30 pm, we were worried as to how me and my two children were going to manage without any luggage throughout the night/holiday. Thankfully despite the late hour we were able to find some clothes and underwear for a few days at the market. Our luggage did turn up the following morning with one suitcase damaged. We will claim through our insurance. We were not informed that we had to pay a deposit of 1000 Thai Bhat on arrival at the hotel, although a minor detail it would have been good to know. ISSUE 3 Date: 28 August Flight: Thai Lion Air SL258 You didn't inform us that we would have to pay baggage allowance. We had three suitcases each weighing less than 15 kgs, which should be free. It was very frustrating to tell the person at Thai Lion Air counter that we were not informed of this additional cost and that she should be charging per suitcase and not the total weight of three suitcases. We had no choice but to pay the amount of £53.82 at the airport to be able to take our luggage with us. ISSUE 4 We got to the hotel Kuta Central Park Hotel in Bali in the evening of 28/08 The hotel staff informed me that there was only one double bed in the room. I was surprised to find that out since the booking is for three people. They insisted that the booking was made for a standard room and it is not their problem and they don't have to provide an additional bed for free. They were asking for 25$ per night for the extra bed. $75 for a bed is quite expensive, especially when the fault wasn't mine. After having paid £53.82 at the airport, I knew I couldn't afford to spend another $75 for a bed, so I had no choice but to share with my two children aged 12 and 14. My children are not huge but sleeping in a bed made for two was very uncomfortable. You really should treat people better. The Kuta Central Park hotel is a dump. The room we were given had no window, except for one that opens on the corridor, I didn't think it would be safe for me to leave a window with public access on the ground floor with two young girls. The bathroom was old and not so clean. We felt like we were suffocating in the room. We had to leave the air con on all night, and the noise was unbearable but we had no choice. On the morning of Saturday 31st of August, there was a leak in the room and we were finally moved to a room with two beds. Although slightly better, there was still no window, and the fridge in the room made a horrendous noise all night. I felt like crying. I felt our holiday in Bali was marred by this very very horrible hotel. The tour guides and taxi drivers were all a bit shocked that a travel agent from the UK could send their customers there. ISSUE 5 1st September Flight TR281 Scoot flight to Singapore We paid the amount of £60.91 for our luggage - again this is not something that we were previously informed of. ISSUE 6 Value Thompson Hotel. VALUE !!!! How embarrassing. The hotel bathroom was extremely smelly, but I suppose I should be grateful that I got given a sofa bed and didn't have to share the bed with the kids again. The duvets were worn out and it was an extremely small room.
