Stiebel Eltron air source heat pumps certainly work in older houses.

We live in a large (8,500ft2), 3-storey, Victorian detached house. The insulation is as good as we can get it but not brilliant, and we have old cast iron "school radiators". The house has been heated by an oil boiler for many years. I was constantly told that there was no way heat pumps would work in this house as the output value and water temperature requirements could not be met, particularly with the old fashioned radiators.. I invited Elite Renewables to give advice and they were the first and only company to confirm that air source heat pumps would work. On their recommendation we duly installed two Stiebel Eltron WPL25AS heat pumps and, after a number of teething problems in year one, they are now working perfectly. The house is toasty and I am saving a great deal of money. The Coefficient of Performance has increased constantly from quarter one (to June 30 2022) and is now consistently above 3, (3.3 in the warmer quarters and just below 3 in the colder quarters.).. The cumulative COP is approaching 3 and rising. This means that on my current electricity price I am effectively paying 7.42p/kwh (including VAT) for my heating, very competitive with oil, and much cheaper than gas. We are also now running a "green" house. I am getting fed up with the so-called experts talking down heat pumps, saying they don't work in older properties, are noisy, aren't efficient in cold weather or in properties with inadequate insulation, and so on. My experience disagrees with all of that - I am now evangelistic about heat pumps! According to the International Energy Agency, 60% of Norway's buildings are fitted with a heat pump, followed closely by Sweden at 43% and Finland at 41%. In Germany the figure is a little over 4% and in the UK just 1%. If they can use heat pumps effectively in Scandinavia then they can certainly work in most types of property here - you just may need to improve your insulation somewhat. The service from Stiebel Eltron has been excellent with Andy Probert attending to expertly solve teething problems. I am about to connect to the Stiebel "Gateway" which will allow me to control the system from anywhere in the world, so I can reduce the room temperatures whilst on holiday, and increase them just before we return so that the house is toasty on arrival. Thanks to Ben Jones of Stiebel for supporting that.

Happy customer

Had an issue with a Heat pump in fault, due to being away we could not respond but spoke to Kyle Gordon at Stiebel Eltron technical department and the issue was resolved over the phone with the customer. Issue was not down to the heat pump but more down to the excessive amount of power cuts the property had had during the day. It is very rare we have issues with Stiebel Eltron equipment but if we do Stiebel never shy away from resolving it and never fail to answer the phone . Thanks for your response Kyle customer was over the moon and extremely grateful for the clear explanation on how to resolve the issue.

Brilliant Customer Service!

Unfortunately our builder/installer walked off our job and left us with a missing part for our new 'Siebel Eltron DCE-S 6/8 Plus' water heater. We contacted the Technical support team to ask for help and find out what options were available to us. The Technical Advisor (James Lapping) was incredibly helpful and today informed us the replacement part will be dispatched FOC. Amazing Customer Service, great communications, very professional over the phone and we cannot speak more highly of the experience we have had with Siebel Eltron. Thank you!

ASHP Breakdown & Great Customer Service

We had a breakdown of our ASHP on a Saturday morning and I reached out to Andy Probert our Service engineer. He took time on the Sunday to log into our system to check and alerted the Technical Support Team . I got a call first thing from Kyle Gordon on Monday checking our system and booking Andy to inspect our System 2 days later. Again 10/10 for the pro activeness of Andy and Kyle to find a solution quickly and having a very happy client. Well done and thanks for your support in this situation!!

Programming

I have just had two wall mounted convector heaters fitted and, despite the large instruction booklet, did have a bit of difficulty programming them. I rang the UK branch, spoke to an amazing guy called James who talked me step by step through the process. 10/10 for James - thank you!

Amazing ASHP & follow up Customer Service

Even though our Stiebel Eltron WPL 25 ASHP was installed 2½ years ago, the aftercare service we still receive from their Technical department is second to none. Not only can they assit in fault finding (very few issues) they are also super speedy in coming up with a solution. The system has reduced our energy bills considerably and helped reduce our reliance on fossil fuels (especially oil)!

Quick response and issue resolved in minutes

My elderly parents' Instantaneous hot water heater became faulty so I was quite stressed to get this issue resolved as soon as possible. I contacted Stiebel via email on a Friday afternoon and I managed to get to Ben. After a few email exchanges Ben placed an order for a replacement for me. I received the item after 2 working days 🙂. My parents are very grateful for your quick response. Thank you for all your help 🙏

Great customer service

We had a fault on a relatively new Stiebel panel heater. It was logged with their technical team and resolved with a replacement being arranged the same day. Great service from the technical team
