Failed to carry out what was a simple drain clearance.
Very disappointed. Called our Metro Rod with a blocked drain. They charged me nearly £100 but were unable to remove the blockage using their water spray equipment. They incorrectly referred me to Anglian Water, who were very helpful, confirmed the blockage but were unable to help because it is a private drain.After that, I spent my own money on a set of drain rods and cleared it myself. Surely Metro Rod should have had the equipment to do that?

TERRIBLE SERVICE
Sent by our household insurers to repair leak in bathroom. Disaster. "Plumber" arrived and found leaking pipe. Repaired leak but broke gate valve and lied to us that it was an airlock that he wasn't qualified to repair. Subsequent heat engineer that came to repair airlock told us what had really happened ie; Metrorod plumber had broken valve but had obviously tried to con us that it was an airlock. Two days without hot water. Will tell as many people as I can how poor the service provided by Metrorod was. Absolutely atrocious and completely unacceptable.

Absolutely brilliant service today. Matt arrived in the middle of our crisis and just sorted it. Superb. Not only was he professional and quick to spot the problem, he was calm, pleasant and very friendly. I can not recommend this team highly enough. Thank you.

Poor customer service as well
Gave a bad review for poor workmanship 2 weeks ago. E-mailed them as instructed but no further response despite another e-mail to chase, so customer service is also bad. The willingness to sort things out as suggested against all the bad reviews is just a ruse and doesn't happen.

Customer hose down the sewer!
The requirement was a full CCTV mapping survey and to properly HPWJ clean it all out. Knowing my drainage quite well, and viewing my full CCTV recordings, I can absolutely verify that this was not carried out. The shocking part was the only attention the sewer got was to us MY garden hose in it, not clean it, and spray the jet at it for under a minute. In fact, the sewer thats connected to my kitchen etc aswell as being connected to storm drainage was blocked within 24hours and ended up paying a different company to clear it after they didnt turn up. They turned up after it was unblocked expecting £95+VAT to clear a blockage they had caused. The grounds and drainage are extensive 1940 cast iron, full of "crud", and after 7 minutes HPWJ use in total, a bit was removed from the storm drain, leaving the vast majority of the system untouched. Their CCTV camera was basically in and out of the van like a yoyo, out of power for most of the time where they sat in the van while it charged, and put down a couple of inspection hatches for a couple of minutes, a couple of times...not long enough to reel out over 42meters of cable even once as they claim to have. From what I see, the work is mainly staged through guesswork with a clipboard in hand and staged photographs. Laughably, after sending an incorrect and incomplete report, they quoted a further £698 to "chain knock" brittle old pipework and HPWJ the lines that they supposedly had done. There is all shades of "wow" to the service received here... Leaving the above unedited, following the response below, I did indeed supply them with a full complaint, and have not had any response / resolution to date

Same day visits that aren't same day
Drains backed up on a Sunday, so I called around a number of places until I found Metro Rod who advised they could get someone out same day. Call was logged at 10.15 am and I was told I would receive a call from an engineer with an idea of the time he would visit. Heard nothing by lunchtime, so I called again and was advised engineer would arrive by 3-3.30pm. No one had arrived by 5pm and could not get through on the main number. Luckily managed to find another company who arrived within an hour, but at a premium due to the short notice. Would have been nice to be told the engineer wouldn't have been attending that day so I could have organised an alternative earlier. Not impressed.

Excellent job
Tony Gallagher came out to sort out a blocked toilet. He was courteous and friendly and did an excellent job. To access the blockage he had to remove a tiled box to get to the stack pipe. He achieved this rapidly and without causing any damage to the tiles or boxwork. He dealt with the blockage efficiently and gave advice on avoiding further problems, I was very happy with the service.
