Annoyed some records disappear ie American newspapers yet not replaced and the cost of the subscription doesn’t go down Apart from that ok

I find making the tree difficult. I get doubles and /or their children are only connected to one parent.

It has helped me locate certain facts about my relatives however when I contacted FMP on 2 occasions to follow up on certain aspects while I was assured of follow up. It never happened

Although I purchased an annual membership I find the FMP website a nuisance to work on. I've decided I don't like the individual person's info page format. After looking at Records unable to return to person I'm searching but flipped back to List of Trees. I then have to click on the tree I'm working on and it takes me to the home person then have to go find the person whose profile I was working on - tiresome. Another point the HINTS page needs to have alphabetize names button.

Findmypast has a decent catalogue of records, some of them free to access too, especially if your irish or of irish descent. The user interface is easy enough to use as well

On my English line lm well advanced as been doing it for years, alway found my Irish research hard so l thought your records would be able to help me with my Irish Ancestors but have found less on your web site than Family tree and Ancestor. Com which l also use. So lm very disappointed. When l used it before it seen to have more information( before 1921 census) did you give up record ?

I wish FMP would ‘talk’ to Ancestry and link family trees and their updates by using the same formats. It really is a waste of time for genealogist to have to run family trees in tandem because there’s no common interface between the two companies. I’m sure profits would remain the same for both companies but it would assist family tree owners with their research.

I have been given a gift subscription. The site says I have highest level of access but a lot if the records I click on redirect to an upgrade page. Quite disappointed.

I especially value the historical newspapers, and eagerly check the new papers digitised when alerted by the web-site.I am researching circuses in the nineteenth century that toured across many national boundaries, so the international papers, especially those from Asia, India and China are indispensable to my research. Newspapers are an indispensable tool for circus historians, as circuses rarely make their way into history books, or colonial papers. Being able to access these invaluable and rare documents at home, esepcially during the pandemic has been transformative. Thank you so much. I am looking forward to the uploading of the Calcutta newspaper Bengal Hurkuru please. This was the only Calcutta paper that always recognised popular theatrical performances! Being able to access 18th Century newspapers has also allowed me to confidently track the emergence of the modern circus in Britain as well.
