Discontinuation of the 1961 Series
I wrote to bemoan the discontinuation of the 1961 series, which converts my bookshelf speakers to orphans (and they are only a year old). Quite disappointing! On the plus side, your representatives Lukas, Jules and Brett each offered prompt and meaningful responses. In particular, I appreciate the referrals to various online forums and hope to locate a 1961 Center (although it appears to be a longshot based on my first pass through the forums). It obviously would have been better if Arendal supported their loyal customer base by continuing the affordable 1961 Series.
Good speakers have a very generous audition period
They have a very generous audition period of 60 days, which gave me plenty of time to decide whether I wanted to keep the product or not. It also meant that I heard that this company makes good speakers, and so I returned the speakers to buy the new ones that are coming. A test says that 1528 is four times better, so much for the money and I'm looking forward to it. It was no problem to return them. There were very good speakers for NOK 21,990, but I would like something that is even better and even more value for money at NOK 47,000. Arendal sound's loudspeakers can really be recommended.

Failed to honour warranty.
Even though I have an invoice dated less than 5 years ago, Arendal informed me the sub was more than 5 years old (by two months) so they would not be offering any support, other than letting me purchase an entirely new amp. Needless to say, this is very disappointing from a company that claims to have wonderful after sales care. Obviously their amps cannot be relied upon (hence the shorter warranty compared to the sub), nor can Arendal be relied upon to actually honour the warranty they claim to provide. Best spend your money with somone else in my opinion. EDIT: Updating this to add that I was the second owner of the subwoofer, and Arendal claim to offer transfer of warranty. This is clearly a lie as despite me having the original invoice (dated less than 5 years prior to reporting the issue), complying with diagnostic requests and sending photo's, serial numbers and many, many emails responding to question after question, they still wriggled out of honouring that warranty. Their dishonest response (false claims about invoice dates), below, shows that they never intend to honour warranty for people who aren't the original owner, despite claims to the contrary on their website, and will do anything to avoid accountability. There's plenty of competition, please use them and find a company that will look after you and stand behind their products.

I have been doing business with Arendal for over 2years and I can honestly say that they have the best customer service of any audio company I’ve ever dealt with.I even know 3-4 by name and they are not only very knowledgeable but are also very personable.Don’t hesitate to use Arendal because their speakers are as good as their people!
