Threatening emails and poor communication
Threatening Emails & Poor Communication I moved into a property a few months ago and started receiving letters addressed to "The Occupier," claiming an outstanding balance of over £500. Since they didn’t even know who lived there, I wasn’t too concerned. I spoke with a very helpful agent who reassured me that I could just pass the letters on to my landlord or letting agent. Fast forward, and I receive an email threatening me with debt collectors, claiming they had made multiple attempts to contact me—which is completely false. They had only ever sent letters to the house, not to me personally. The alleged outstanding amount had also mysteriously dropped to just over £30. When I tried calling the number they provided, I was told there was a 15-minute wait, so I selected the callback option. Half an hour later—no callback. I rang again, only to find out they had closed early, despite their website and email stating they should be open until 6 PM. Absolutely appalling service. If this is how they treat people who don’t even owe them money, I dread to think how they treat actual customers. Avoid at all costs. Update for their response; Why when I rang back to see why I hasn't been called it said your phone lines are now closed? Well before 6pm. A blanket email sent but I've never had an account with you. I've not had the callback which was promised and I've not had any written response neither.

Do not recommend
Was with rebel for just over a month and definitely would not recommend! Being charged an extortionate amount per month for 2 people in a 2 bedroom flat when our new supplier charges us £50 less and that’s with more usage now over the height of winter! Received final bill and statement from them and was kindly refunded our overpayment only to be sent an email 3 months later saying we owe them money! When calling to clarify being told this was a mistake on their part and they should’ve taken the money out of what was being refunded to us so now we have to pay for their mistake or will be referred to a debt collection - bearing in mind the email also states that multiple attempts had been made to contact about this when no attempts had been made whatsoever. Definitely would not recommend

Scam Company – False Debt, No Contact, Threats of Debt Collection
If I could give zero stars, I would. Rebel Energy is an absolute scam of a company. I never had an account with them, I never received a bill, and I never heard from them—yet suddenly, they’re demanding money I don’t owe and threatening me with debt collectors! I switched to Octopus Energy and paid my bills to them. Rebel Energy never contacted me before this, yet they now falsely claim I have an outstanding balance. I tried logging into their website—guess what? No account exists for me. So where exactly are these so-called bills and "multiple contact attempts" they claim to have made? Now they’re threatening me with a debt collection agency for a completely made-up charge. This is dishonest, unethical, and borderline illegal. If you’re considering using Rebel Energy, run in the opposite direction. I will be reporting them to the Financial Ombudsman and the FCA for this fraudulent behavior. Avoid this company at all costs!
