Garden patio
We bought pavers to do the garden patio, got them at a great price & free delivery in the sale & they held them until our contractor was ready to start the job. Loved them so much we decided to do the front path to the house in the same pavers. They had stopped selling these but had enough left in stock to do the front with a few spare. As was end of the line we got them at a great price. Friendly knowledgeable staff & really helpful. Would absolutely recommend.

Delivery was selected, good communications from yourselves & the delivery driver. The driver was excellent & helpful on delivery. Would definitely recommend Melton Stone. Porcelain pavers to be laid this week😁👍
Bowed tiles
From the outset, I would like to clarify that my intention was not to leave a negative review, but to resolve the issue directly with the company. Unfortunately, this was not possible. I am not aiming to dissuade others from using this company; rather, I want to share my experience to help others avoid disappointment. The product I purchased was Mountain White Outdoor Porcelain Paving - 20mm - 600x900mm. I bought 32 tiles to create a patio in my garden, for which I hired an experienced landscaper. This professional, who has been in the trade for decades, noticed partway through the installation that the slabs were not aligning properly due to unevenness. Upon closer inspection, he found that many of the tiles were bowed and not suitable for laying. I contacted the company to report this quality control issue. At this point, the landscaper had already spent three days on preparation and partial installation. Returning all the tiles was not feasible due to the investment of £550 on the slabs and an additional £600 on labor. I provided photographic evidence to the company, showing the slabs' defects using a spirit level. The company's response was to offer a full refund only if all the slabs were returned. This did not address my situation, given the significant labor costs already incurred. When I explained this, the company questioned why the landscaper had continued the installation. I clarified that the defects were only noticeable after half the patio was completed. Despite this, the company refused any partial refund or other compromise. I told them that I will be leaving a review if a compromise could not be reached to make others aware of my experience. I then received call from the boss of the company. Straight away, I could tell he was on the defensive and annoyed that I was potentially going to be "slandering his company," which was not at all my intention. I was merely going to write, "I purchased these tiles, it wasn’t great quality, the majority were bowed, and I would recommend going for a more expensive tile." However, he explained to me in no uncertain terms that "if you buy an inexpensive tile, expect a certain level of quality," to which I replied, "so if you buy cheap, expect a cheap product?" He denied that this was what he was trying to say. Throughout the phone call, he kept telling me how "reasonable" I sounded and that "you agree with me on this, don’t you?" and "you’re a smart guy, I can tell." Let me be clear: I do not wish for anyone to patronise me like that. I am not stupid, and this really rubbed me the wrong way. I did not agree with everything he had to say and grew more and more agitated as the phone call went on—to say it was a professional response would be wildly incorrect. At one point, he said, "you’re going to leave us a bad review and feel smug about it," to which I responded, "no, I wouldn’t feel smug at all, because it would mean the matter had not been resolved. And I believe other customers need to know about my experience." He then tried to ask if I had a business and other inappropriate questions as he became more frustrated with the conversation. Eventually, I had to give him an ultimatum to end the call because it was turning unpleasant. I asked, "are you willing to offer me any sort of compensation for the tiles I’ve purchased?" to which he said no, and I politely ended the phone call. This phone call really got under my skin. The tone and manner in which he spoke to me were so demeaning and unprofessional that I was genuinely shocked. I know the customer is not always right, but in business, you have to concede at times to keep your customer satisfied. I don’t feel like I was being difficult at all. However, I was in a predicament where my landscaper had done the work, and I needed to pay him, and I couldn’t return the slabs because half had been laid. I feel the company had no sympathy for my situation that their product had put me in, and they were happy to put all the blame on my landscaper, which I didn’t agree with at all. Despite the challenging situation, my primary concern remains the company's refusal to acknowledge the issue with their product and the lack of a satisfactory resolution. I hope this feedback encourages better customer service practices. In conclusion, I advise prospective customers to consider opting for higher-priced tiles (Italian and not Indian) to avoid similar issues. Although the cost may be higher, it could prevent the kind of problems I encountered. This experience has been frustrating and disappointing, particularly given the significant financial investment involved and the rather rude and defensive phone call. ————————————- I did not threaten to slander the company, we did slurry the tiles and I bought tiles 20 days ago, I’ve got a receipt of proof, not sure why he’s lying again.
