I bought a pair of Pilgrims gold plated small earrings four months ago. I have worn the earrings maybe for two months all together now and the gold plating is gone from all the areas touching skin. Underneath the apparently very thin layer of gold there is some metal that has already started to corrose and irritate my skin.
