A stressful experience trying to cancel and unwanted membership at Canning Town branch
I visited The Massage Company in Canning Town on October 22, 2024. Booking was straightforward, I was warmly welcomed upon arrival, and the massage itself was good. However, as I was leaving, the receptionist, Chantelle, began pressuring me to sign up for a membership. I expressed that I needed time to consider, but she insisted on enrolling me regardless, stating that, since they had my card details, I could cancel within the first month. A couple of days later, I emailed The Massage Company to cancel the membership. What followed was a frustrating back-and-forth, with repeated attempts from their side to convince me to stay despite my clear request to cancel. After explaining my reasons and sending two additional emails asking for confirmation of the cancellation, they stopped responding entirely. Initially, I was genuinely open to becoming a semi-regular client without committing to a membership. However, the company’s aggressive sales tactics, relentless pressure to sign up, and lack of responsiveness regarding my cancellation request have left me deeply disappointed. The experience has entirely deterred me from returning as a client. To The Massage Company: please do not ask me to contact you directly to resolve this matter. I already did so when you wrote me after receiving my feedback (you sent me an email asking to write a review and I decided to send it to you privately, rather than posting it, as you suggested on November 4). Following your instructions, I sent a fourth email, yet I have still not received a response. If you genuinely want to resolve this, please confirm by email that my membership has been cancelled.
Cancelling membership
After many months of fantastic massages I needed to cancel my membership due to financial reasons. I’ve given all notice and been told my last month was refunded but no refund has reached my account. I’ve emailed as well now and no response either to emails.
Massage was amazing
Massage was amazing. However I felt bullied into getting a membership. Chantelle at the reception said we will just take card details today and you can make up your mind if you want to have membership before the 1st of October. I emailed on same day to say I didnt want membership but I kept receiving emails on why I should have membership. Terms and conditions state I can cancel within a month so why am I being forced to join??? Kofo

I went to the Canning Town Branch The whole place smelt lovely, even reception so the whole experience started well. When I got on the massage table it was WARM! Like an electric blanket! And I was covered with a proper blanket (was it a weighted one?). There was a choice of oils. I had a deep tissue massage with the standard oil and almost fell asleep! So chilled! I bought my massage on Groupon so wasn't really expecting much but the Canning Town branch is lovely once inside (it's in a new build development opposite the tube/bus station) and the staff are super friendly - especially Chantelle on the front desk and masseur Borges. (and surprisingly for a Groupon purchase I was called back to arrange my appointment when I couldn't get through)

The session was bought as a gift by my awesome daughter. I booked in to the Sutton Coldfield branch in Mere Green. I was booked in by the lovley Olivia who was courteous and very patient. My masseuse was Ruby.She was brilliant,she was kind and very patient she went through consultation notes throughly and I had the Swiss massage along with some deep tissue massage. I also had the add on of aromatherapy. She talked when I needed to but once it was happening it was serene ,peaceful and bloody lovley. I was given an advisory form for my next session which was individualy tweaked for my needs.
CANNING TOWN BRANCH IS FRAUDULENT
CANNING TOWN BRANCH IS FRAUDULENT BEWARE OF THIS SCAM OF A COMPANY. THEY Will trap you into a membership and charge you for two months before you are able to cancel. On top of that they will charge a £20 fee. I GOT SCAMMED OUT OF £160 total. Absolute worst place ever. And they will not refund you. They will trick you into signing up for a membership and sweet talk you to say that you can cancel at any time. Very dishonest business. I would definitely not recommend, so many other more honest massage companies out there. I still stand by this but I did manage to get a refund from my bank for one of the charges.

Horribly rude & very aggressive sales for their monthly membership. Came here for 1 massage. They charge extra to include the feet for a full body? Afterwards, some guy was aggressively trying to get me to sign up for a membership to the point I felt I can't just leave. Super aggressive and rude.
