Things started off ok except for delays making it 3 months of waiting which was frustrating. The freelancers are pretty awesome, but the management and support is frustrating - sometimes without a reply but usually with a reply that doesn't really answer the question. The platform is ok but there is no real direction on how the process works. As well the ebook formatting was not done well so I had to pay a freelancer $200 through upwork to fix it. UW use basic Word which doesn't look the best at all for an ebook.

The writer and editor I worked with were absolutely incredible and extremely professional. The quality of work was outstanding. The platform is not easy to navigate for newcomers. The chat bots and videos are a waste of valuable time and money when a simple sentence would answer a question like a human being. There should be a balance between tech and personal interaction in a creative field. I have now revised my review and further down graded it. For some reason, Urban Writers felt it was a good idea to put my name on their response. I used no name on this review and use a DBA for my business. As I mentioned, there is a lack of consideration when dealing with people by UW the platform. Thank you for illustrating my point directly in this review.

Everything was going well until I had the book cover designed. I provided the back-page description and it was added. Everything looked great. A day later I decided to change a sentence in the book description so I contacted TUW and they said I'd have to pay a further $30 to reopen the Item or Order! What! I had used 2 of the 3 revisions, so I still had 1 left! but TUW said it didn't matter, I had to pay $30 to re-open the order! I said no, I went to FIVERR and had someone else design the book cover for me and it looks amazing! Sorry TUW, but I pay a lot of money to you, and asking me for another $30 for something I'd already paid for was not very professional.

Over all-I was satisfied with service, the only problem I had was the formatting portion. It was tagged as completed right away without my approval and there were many issues such as many blank pages, in many cases the subtitles of the chapters were a page apart with a blank page separating the subtitle and the body of the paragraph. I had to do the formatting my self, and after completion I went from a page count of 214 to 130, and now I have to pay extra for a cover redesign.

The Urban Writer team is always so quick to respond to my requests and inquiries (even when I make out of the ordinary, more "difficult client" requests). They are my number one trusted team for ghost writers for novel content!

An amazing first time experience with the platform ! Communication was quick, clear & concise. The website was super user friendly. The freelancers were extremely professional, helpful, patient and efficient. I will definitely use UrbanWriters for all future projects 😀

The only negative was that my first Ghost Writer had to leave the project for personal reasons. Set my order back, and had to find a new Writer. Ended up starting from scratch with that Writer. Took longer than expected, 3 months to complete the project.

As with any organization, some associates are committed to excellent customer service and some are not. TUW has among its staff those who fall squarely into the former category. Bumps in the road are met with pleasant, cooperative response, and that is much appreciated.
