I wouldn’t be where I am today without Zero Gravity!!

Zero Gravity provided me with a mentor who has guided me through every step of my application journey, both through academic support and friendship. Despite being rejected from Oxford post interview, I want to be an example that Oxbridge are not the be all and end all, my mentor was there for me throughout every step of the interview process and dealing with the subsequent rejection. Aside from this, I have learnt so much from zero gravity, through masterclasses to creating research projects to discuss with my mentor that aided my application significantly. Without zero gravity and my mentor I wouldn’t be where I am today, and I wouldn’t be fully prepared for my university journey.

Amazing experience

I am a future university student passionate about forensic science. My experience with my mentor was sublime, as she constantly helped me and challenged me to create a better personal statement, by offering me tips and tricks about how to formulate it, as well as what admissions offices are looking for based on her experience. We were able to bond rapidly as she was very open and sociable, making it easier for me to communicate my worries to which we would together find a solution.

Amazing Platform

I study Biology, Chemistry and Maths at a level and my mentor has been able to assist me in developing subject fluency to boost my performance both in exams and as someone thinking scientifically which I wouldn't have received without the 1 on 1 meetings. I have worked with Alex from Zero Gravity and we have just finished the national pilot at my school. I have also engaged in other Zero Gravity experiences such as the fashion drop in which I placed 3rd.

The best support platform

I have greatly benefited from the Zero Gravity platform. Without it, I would not have known how to write a personal statement. My school’s advice was severely limited, which is why I joined the invaluable ‘Sorted for Summer’ personal statement program. Outside of my studies I work in my local library, and volunteer with Girlguiding and The Holocaust Educational Trust. Without advice from my mentor, masterclasses and the Zero Gravity Community I would not have known how to write about these endeavours in a way that Admissions Tutors would find informative and engaging. The Zero Gravity community has also been a brilliant source of advice and knowledge. I have received information about a wide range of topics, such as text choices for my English Coursework and if I should bring a bike to university. Community has given me the confidence to know that I can achieve my goals

Zero Gravity is an amazing way to gain more opportunities!

I can't even begin to say how much zero gravity has helped me this year. I come from a family where I have no connections to the law and not many opportunities to break into the legal sector, so this has meant that I have used zero gravity and the spaces to find opportunities which have really benefited me. I am only in year 12 right now, but I feel that I have a plethora of things to write about and things that will help me get into my dream uni's. For example, I have had work experience at one of Manchester's biggest law firms, have been to Cambridge University on a fully paid law conference and this summer I will be doing work experience at an incredible commercial law firm in London. All of these opportunities have come from posts from Zero Gravity members, and I am so thankful that I get the chance to access all of these opportunities

Lifelong support and experience

I joined zero gravity 3 years ago and was matched with an excellent mentor who helped me significantly in my ucas application and supported me throughout. I couldn’t have done it without zero gravity. It allowed me to achieve the zero gravity scholarship too, which I think is a fantastic thing they have to offer, it’s supported me loads financially and helped me focus on my uni grades. Once I started uni I also became a mentor and I have continued to get a huge amount of support with my future career, speaking to people from different fields, job and internship opportunities… I am so glad to have joined this platform, they will nurture you from the start and give you the best shot in excelling in the future

Zero Gravity

The community on Zero Gravity is so lovely, and having so many people of a similar background is so comforting, especially seeing people achieve things like going to a Russel Group or Oxbridge. The opportunities shared mean I was able to make successful applications to Sutton Trust and UNIQ summer schools, attend helpful advice sessions and receive direct advice from people in the places I aspire to go! My mentor is also lovely and is helping me write my personal statement
