Does the check fine but not valid if you are missing some details and you don't fill them in before you have bought the car. Sometimes you cannot obtain all the details before buying the car and when you come to filling in the missing details, it might be too late if the checks come up with something suspicious!

Better more complete data can be obtained from experian and at a cheaper price (if for multi check) The only response from HPI check was... "you should have checked the information you would get before" I had paid £20 and the data was missing the dates when change of ownership took place. However having seen HPI reports in the past, the data on what i received from HPI check was seemingly lacking overall.

I paid for a text hpi check for £3 for a car i bought and it came back as stolen/recovered and written off-YES CAT.. It advised me to do a full hpi check on the car so i followed the link to the website. I did the full hpi check which cost £19.99 and all came back clear no total loss or anything so why do i have 2 different reports?

I think if you looking for hpi check,and pay for that,you should get all possible information. Not in partly.. And if you want chassis number,milage...and some more,they asking pay again.. And it's expensive

If you want the correct information, you can do no better than getting an HPI check.

Why is there a 3 month time limit on when you can redeem your pre-paid checks?! I've paid for them surely I can use them in my own time. I was looking for a car - fell ill so gave up my search for a while now I have re-ignited my search and not allowed to redeem my other 2 checks because its a few weeks outside of the 3 months!! Why is there a time limit - makes no sense other than a way for HPI to line their own pockets. Information is out of date too - last car I hpi'd showed finance outstanding which there wasn't so I missed out only to find BMW had cleared the finance but HPI hadn't! Waste of time and money if you ask me
