Disappointing
LMF Energy came recommended through the Solar Together scheme, so I was expecting to be dealing with a professional company. Sadly, it’s not turned out that way. The problems started when the scaffolders didn’t turn up on the morning of the installation. They finally arrived in the afternoon, by which time the electricians had left site. They didn’t bring sufficient materials for the job and quietly disappeared leaving the scaffolding only partly erected. As they came from about two hours drive to my property there was no chance of popping back to the depot for more materials. The panels and fitters arrived about an hour later but were unable to fit the panels and left. I had been told by the surveyor that there would be an extra cost of £300 for a scaffolding bridge. However, no such bridge was installed by the scaffolders. I contacted LMF on three occasions requesting a revised invoice. To date I have had no response. The scaffolders returned the following day and the panels were eventually installed but not connected. I spent a lot of time calling LMF to tie them down to a date for connecting up and commissioning my system. The electrician finally returned nine days later to finish the job. Unfortunately he forgot that the installation included a Solar iBoost for the immersion heater and did not test whether it was working properly. It is not working properly. After a number of phone calls and emails the electrician promised he was going to come back and take a look at it. That was two weeks ago, and I am still waiting. The ridiculous thing about it is, I’m still sat on a significant portion of the money owed so it’s in their interest to get it sorted (or so I thought). It appears that LMF get a lot of 5 star reviews. I would certainly agree the electricians and the fitters are polite and friendly but when things don’t go to plan all communication breaks down and there is no one who takes responsibility for sorting it.
Connedompany must have known there was…
Your company must have known there was a problem with pigeons! I am a single mum being woke up at 4am everyday! With 2 daughters 1 disabled! I can't cope with the stress I need theses panels removed! Been totally taken advantage off! Needless to say no one rang me! No sign of this problem bring fixed or even recognised! If it is not in the package then I still thi k customers should be made aware! 4am having your kids up Is tiring after months!
They came and fitted my solar panels…
They came and fitted my solar panels very quickly, no problems and a week after, the electrician came and did what he needed to do Really happy with the work that was done
Clean and tidy

Very pleased with the installation…
Very pleased with the installation can’t wait for the sun to come out and see the amount the panels generate
Very fast quick service

Poor communication, inept scaffolders, job never completed!
The initial application in June of this year, and subsequent approval under the ECO4 grant scheme, was quick and relatively simple although there was confusion over the survey and I received calls from two different companies who it seems were vying for the job. From there things deteriorated. The photocopied paperwork received from LMF was hardly legible and not very professional and communication was sparse. Scaffolders turned up on the Friday before Bank Holiday in August and only erected one part on the back of the house, told me they would be back on the Monday to do the rest but never showed. Disputes over the shrouding, despite National Grid visiting the property twice and giving it their approval. Long delays ensued with no updates. Fitters turned up to install panels unaware that scaffolding was not in place. A second team of scaffolders arrived 3 weeks later, took one look at the job and walked away. In sheer frustration I cancelled the contract and asked for the scaffolding to be removed as LMF could not fulfill their obligations and offered to install just 7 of the approved 15 panels. The scaffolders who arrived to dismantle the scaffolding a week later were rude and inconsiderate and threw the poles and clamps over the pavement and on to my neighbour's path with no regard for safety or damage to property. The whole experience has put me off applying through another company unless they use local contractors and not some second rate fly by nights who are just fleecing the scheme by racking up extortionate mileage and accommodation costs. This is hardly environmentally friendly practice for a company whose so-called ethic is to help lower carbon emissions. I have since learned that the components for these panels are made in China by Ouigar people in forced labour camps under inhumane conditions - think again whether solar really is good for humanity and the environment!
All the workers were excellent
All the workers were excellent. The scaffolders and fitters were supperb. They cleared up all their mess and left the working area is a spotless condition.
Brilliant
Well had the scaffolders around and a few problems so couldn’t put it up as national grid had to put more shrouding on line but it is amazing that LMF is dealing with it all and now everything is going smoothly and having solar fitted Monday … you guys are fab - polite/professional and keeping me updated on what’s happening and when. Thank you
A worth while investment
ppreciated. We are very pleased that we made this investment. It was a learning curve for all. The scaffolding worked well and the electricians are the people who make it all work. It is important to get w lead direct to the meter. I cannot tell you how much pleasure it gives me to calculate what we are saving in our electricity expenditure on a daily basis, in the amount of electricity we export back to the grid, and also what we are doing for the environment!
