Beware of their bait-and-switch tactic

I conducted a search on Kayak for a ticket and found various booking options, one being Ovago.com for $1469, the lowest price listed. After seeing some positive reviews, I proceeded to book with them. However, within 5 minutes of entering my credit card information, the price jumped to $1550 on their website. Finding this suspicious, I exited the site. Shortly after, I received a call from a representative inquiring about my travel details. I declined, citing the price increase, and hung up. Moments later, I received another call offering "deals" via email, listing tickets for $1703 and $1706. Meanwhile, Kayak still displayed the $1469 rate. Interestingly, the communications from Ovago were signed with animal names like Finch and Maverick. I ultimately booked through Oojo on Kayak for $1468.10. I avoid nearly falling victim to Ovago's inflated prices. Beware of this company's bait-and-switch tactic. *** Per OVAGO's response below, they mentioned a price increase during the booking process. We all understand the urgency of purchasing tickets within a certain timeframe after clicking the link, otherwise, why would they advertise prices down to the penny? They claim to "strive hard..." Yet, from the offer they provided, it seems they "strive hard to extract more money from me"! Subsequently, I booked the same flight on Oojo a week later for $1468.10, which remains the same even two weeks later. Meanwhile, Ovago seems to "strive hard..." to present me with two different tickets priced over $1700. Their representative avoided that information in her response, didn't she? Is it only considered cheating if you're caught, OVAGO?

False advertisement

I booked mid range ticket (economy standard) for a flight that was supposed to include the following: - carry-on luggage - checked bag - seat selection The first two checked out but when it came to the seat they wanted me reach out to them after I book my flight so they can book my seats. Surprise surprise, no free seats. I spoke to about 8 different people via chat and phone. The most ridiculous thing they told me was: if you want a free seat use online checking 24 hrs before the flight. Duh. That’s not something you can advertise as “seat selection included” False advertisement, clueless customer support. Edit to the below comment from Ovago- absolutely useless and meaningless response. False advertisement through and through. By the way, how is trustpilot is verifying all these raving reviews that quote customer service people by name? I don’t believe in any of these for a moment.

Email bombardment

I was checking a flight and I was asked from Alonzo for my email and phone number. I didn’t give it to them as I just wanted to check something on my own and after an appalling experience with Expedia I book only through the airlines directly. In addition, I wasn’t in a rush to book anything. I disconnected from their page in a couple of minutes and despite not having given them my contacts, they day after they started bombarding me with emails: I got two copies of the quote and two copies of an email asking to confirm if I got the quote. The silver lining is that at least I know how aggressive they are without having to buy anything from them, so I’ll carefully avoid this company

Shopping 4 Stars, Customer Service 0 Star

The shopping experience, including flight options and pricing, were satisfactory. However, a portion of my itinerary was cancelled by the airline so I requested a refund. It's taken over 80 Business Days and Ovago still can't provide a refund, nor can they even provide proof that they're working with the airline to get my refund. The communication has been spotty, inconsistent, and without any useful information other than "it's airline's fault". It's not worth the 'cheap' fare if I don't have peace-of-mind that Ovago will take care of customers if something happens.

Looked for airline tickets at a good price

I went on to the site to look for the best deal on an airline ticket. I was connected to Arthur who is one of the travel agents through the chat on the site. He was able to save me an additional $300 on my roundtrip using some discount code. If you are looking for the best deals at the lowest prices I recommend using Ovago and chat with Arthur.

Ovago is basically a scam

Ovago is basically a scam. My daughter bought a ticket and was given the option of paying $300 more for a refundable ticket. We received an invoice that only stated the final cost of the ticket. It did not include the additional charge we paid and it did not state that our ticket was refundable. When we had to cancel her flight we spent, literally, one month trying to get our money back. We were not successful. Ovago's customer service is exceptionally terrible. Its hard to get anyone to answer the phone, calls get dropped, they tell you someone is assigned your case and they will call you (they don't). Do yourself a favor and *never* do business with Ovago. The below response from Ovago is *not* an accurate description of the process. My daughter and I called several times. On the three occasions we got to speak to a person we were told that three different people were working on our case and would call back within 2-4 hours. They did not. When we did finally get a call back it was at 11:30pm eastern standard time. Who does that!?! The "review" of the screenshots of our purchase that were supposedly archived, took two weeks during which all of my emails went unanswered. When I finally got a call with an update I was told that the policies on cancelation were clear and that we did not qualify for a refund despite knowing that we paid an additional fee for a refundable ticket. When I asked for copies of the screenshots, I was told customer service doesn't have access to them. So, to summarize, the advertised fare of $1039 went up to $1400 with our selected tariff. The invoice we received made no mention of the additional fare. It took us almost 8 weeks to get help. And the "proof" that it was our fault was not available to customer service or to us. The "refund" we are waiting on (still don't have it) is for a little more than $100 on a $1400 ticket. I don't know who wrote the other positive reviews on this site, but I would definitely find any other travel site. I will be actively looking for other review sites to spread the word on what can only be described as a barely legal scam.

don't do it! not worth it!

This company sells a flexible ticket option for $135, but they make it incredibly difficult to actually change your ticket. And they try to charge you penalty fees that per their terms, you don't owe. It's very hard to get a reply from their customer service in a timely manner. Just not worth it.
