Nova tech no longer sells Laptops

Nova tech no longer sells Laptops. The Novatech lap top had issues with CMOS and unable to turn on. Diagnosis was new hard drive was needed. I was told CMOS was an issue but the unit would turn on ok now and starts up. If the CMOS error message comes up just hit enter and all will be well. On return home the lap top (with new Hard drive) did not start up everytime and it became worse, therefore Laptop was taken back to Novatech for them to assess. (I don't think the hard drive was an issue) They have had to send the unit away; we are still waiting for a response as to the diagnosis and cost.

Fan was running way too fast

My 5 year old Novatech computer had become a bit iffy. As a vintage car magazine editor it was becoming a problem. I therefore bought a new Nspire machine, whilst relegating the older machine to backup status. The Nspire machine was collected, installed and inexplicably the fan made an awful lot of noise as compared with the 5yr old computer. After discussions with your technical people and installing everything I could find to do with the CPU and motherboard, the fan was still noisy. I then came across an item on setting the fan to "auto run". On entering the BIOS it transpires that there is a "silent" setting for the fan. After a (worrying) period of time. The fan finally began running quietly. The moral of this story is that the people building the machine might usefully set the fan to run silently unless, the punter specifically requests and wants the roar of a cpu fan under their desk. I would add that the Nspire machine is perhaps not all that I imagined it to be. Only 1 x PCI slot, very few USB ports, limited audio board etc. At least £100 MORE five years after I bought the other machine, and marginally faster CPU aside, rather less for the money.
