Timber treatment and Basement tanking
Did a timber treatment and lower ground damp proofing with Tapco. Really satisfied with the job, surveyor made the correct suggestions and team leader Kaylan onsite kept me up to date on each step with pictures on progress. Requested cement on the floor mid works, they promptly found additional people to carry the job within the original deadline. Would definetely recommend.

We used Tapco on the recommendation of our plasterer and it was great advice. Each aspect of the process was well managed and everyone was knowledgeable and quick to respond. The damp proofing of two walls was carried out by Jimmy who was friendly and polite and each stage was explained and carried out very professionally. Considering how dusty this process is the room was left in a really good state after he had finished. I would highly recommend Tapco.

These guys were involved in a road accident with me nothing major I pulled out and one of there company cars scrapped the side of me, and now they are trying to sue for damages and losses outside of the insurance claim.
From 2017-2022
I first used Tapco in 2017. At that time they did an excellent job and the walls they treated are still dry. Now in 2022, I'm wondering how many changes of staff there have been? The girls in the office have definitely changed and it feels like they haven't been trained at all. They fail to answer emails some of the time and just do not know what to do about anything. When it came to writing an invoice, they had to do it three times because they kept charging me far too little! The work has just been completed and I hope that it was done well. The workmen were nice enough and appeared to know what they were doing. They cleared up at the end, though there was a great deal of mess - I think they could have protected the floor and furniture a bit better. There is a niggling thought that if the original surveyor from 2017 had done his job well, the second round of damp may never have occurred, in which case it should have been under guarantee, even though the surveyor's report itself doesn't carry the guarantee ironically. They did deduct £160 from the bill for not using their own ladders! I don't know how they justify that amount just to put up a ladder but when it came to the point, they used mine instead. I only asked for the discount after the job when I knew what they had done but there was no argument and I'm happy about that. So all in all, I would say make a new judgement every time you employ anyone to work on your property. The admin in advance was very worrying relative to the actual work being done.

From our first phone conversation with TapCo, to arranging the surveyors visit and then the remedial work to sort out a minor rising damp issue, the service has been very professional. We were apprehensive about the work starting but the technician was really considerate, respectful, skilful and carried out the work very efficiently. The new plastering was blended in with the existing plasterwork really well.

Tapco game to fix a crack through our…
Tapco game to fix a crack through our wall, which in turn had caused severe damp in our 18 months old room. From the surveyor visit to the work being completed we felt that they were exemplary. Martin, Greg and the team were polite, tidy and completed work to the highest standard, all whilst working within the boundaries of us having to work from home and with a young child. I couldn't recommend them highly enough and should we every have issues again, would gladly use Tapco.

Actions speak louder than words....
Sometimes, it's not about whether a company provides top notch service from start to finish, but how they respond when things don't get off on the right foot. In Tapco's case, things didn't get off on the right foot when they sent their first surveyor to assess some relatively minor damp in my period basement property in West London. The first surveyor they sent to assess the damp was nice enough, very affable in fact, but he didn't pick up all of the damp that was present, and this caused some issues when a prospective buyer's homebuyer survey report recorded damp in areas not picked up by Tapco's surveyor. Despite this, the actions that followed were proof that Tapco have clearly learned a thing or two about customer service in the 50 odd years they've been trading. Three additional surveys followed (all free of charge) until all of the damp was successfully identified, including one from the delightful Brian Tanner, Tapco's most senior surveyor, who also clearly knows a thing or two about just how comprehensive a damp survey needs to be to ensure every last nook and cranny has been investigated. Apparently, I'm not the first person to say this, but I was so impressed by the lengths Brian went to to determine the full extent of the damp, I suggested that Tapco try and clone him! Even while he was conducting the damp survey, he was happy to speak to potential buyers viewing the flat and explain what was causing the damp and what the most effective course of treatment would be to remedy it. At all times, the equally delightful team in the office: Michelle, Kerry, Lexi and Beverly (apologies if I've missed anyone out) were extremely polite, efficient and professional, ensuring that the process of booking the surveys and having the damp treatment work carried out were conducted in a professional and timely manner. I probably wasn't the easiest customer they've dealt with, but they stuck to the task with aplomb and ensured I was kept abreast of developments at all times. A special mention as well to Phil and Mystery, who performed the required damp treatment works. In an age when it's becoming increasingly difficult to trust the reviews we read online, I hope that this review will help Tapco to stand out for the right reasons. As I said at the start, for me, the hallmark of a good company isn't necessarily one that delivers a first-class service from start to finish, but one that can acknowledge when it hasn't got off to the best start, but then delivers a high-quality service in abundance to ensure it nails the brief thereafter.
