Get the job done, but its slow and painful

Edit: All credit to YMP, they have taken our feedback from here on board and made efforts to rectify some of the situation. The review has therefore been edited with this in mind. Also granted an extra star based on their efforts to remediate. I have to first call out the excellent work done by Vicki at YMP, she was absolutely the only shining light in our whole process. The rest however, was a very dark spot. YMP were very quick at finding us a suitable deal and moved from AIP towards getting an offer within a week. However, it took a grand total of 17 weeks to get from first contacting YMP through to Completion. I know that YMP were not on the hook for the whole thing, but they did very little to move it forward and the overall feeling is that we have done a lot of their work for them. The worst we had to deal with was when we were getting nothing but lip service type emails such as "this is perfectly normal" and "we just have to wait" until I lost my rag and called up the lender direct, to be told that they too had been trying to call YMP for a week with no success. We were thankfully able to drag Vicki back into it and she was able to get the process moving again. However, we were also then alerted to a "problem" that the guy in YMP tried to gaslight us about telling us that we'd spoken to him the week before about it (never once called us). Once it moved into Completion, YMP could and did do literally nothing. They couldn't talk to the solicitors, and were open that they could do nothing, so we were getting updates and passing them back to them. Emails take 2/3 days to get a response. You invariably get voicemail if you ring direct, and we found that people wouldnt answer their phone but would answer their colleagues phones immediately afterwards. We started getting much better phone responses when we started withholding our number. We also got put on their insurance arm (YPP), who got us a deal sorted within about 2 days, amazing, but that left us paying insurance on a mortgage we didnt have for 3 months. If YMP could move as quickly as YPP, that would be great. Edit: After the review YMP have refunded the equivalent of the extra months insurance policy payments. The quickest contact we had from YMP was after the conveyancer had confirmed completion date, we instantly got an email reminding us we had to pay the broker fee. I would ask what we were paying for because I'm pretty sure that beyond "getting the offer" they've done absolutely nothing, but other reviews tell me that we wont get anywhere with that. Overall, I cant give 1* as they helped us out and got us a really good deal, and as long as you have unlimited time and patience, they're OK, but its just too much hassle.

An easy journey thanks to Joy Barnes

The process has been navigated with relative ease. My journey through the process was made very easy by constant and friendly updates from Joy Barnes. My personal life and career was hectic at the time and I feared that the process would be quite stressful. My fears were unfounded as Joy was there at every turn, offering support and simplifying the process. Thanks you so much, Paul.

Great, open and honest service

Amazing job by Rosie Boxall. She contacted us immediately after we sent a request through a price comparison site. Offered easy to understand advice and guidance, prompting our family to think hard about our finances. She gave us options, including debt consolidation. All our questions were answered including what the ratio of interest we would pay monthly. All our questions about additional costs were answered. She waited patiently for documents, sending regular reminders. We also received regular updates via text message. She got in touch when banks changed their interest rates. She made a very nerve-wracking process much easier to digest and process.

Residential Remortgage to New lender

Excellent service provided from start to finish from Simon and Toby who were always on hand to help and advise throughout my recent remortgage on my property to be fair it was not always plain sailing throughout the process however the issues that arose were not down to Simon or Toby they were both Excellent as I said previously and always on hand to help and advise very satisfied with the service provided by your mortgage people as a whole and would definitely recommend to others and I will definitely use again when my current deal is due to expire thank you for everything
