I had a terrible experience with this broker. Initially appeared very helpful, took advantage of my financial situation and were not open and transparent about the broker fees, charged me £1995 broker fee and justified this by saying my case my ‘complex’ but then refused to explain what extra work they had carried out to justify the amount charged. Over charged me on solicitors fees which I then had to challenge. Provided me with false information several times and customer service was shocking when trying to raise a formal complaint. Eventually accepted they were In the wrong and offered to make a small good will payment (£150) for the inconvenience. I took my case to the financial ombudsman who eventually made the decision that I had to pay the extortionate £1995 fee as they had written it into documents that I had signed early on. I would like to be clear that this fee was not explained me In the initial calls so please be careful and read all documents before signing as it turns out they do not record their calls so there is no way of proving they did not explain the fees. I would never had agreed to pay £1995 fee for advice when I could have obtained this for free from a normal broker. The company will respond to this review and say they made the fees clear in the documents which I signed, but if you are in a vulnerable, financial situation like I was please read everything in detail so you are clear. I was charged the highest fee when their fees start at £695 and they told me they did not have to explain why they had decided to charge me £1995. Definitely a lesson learnt here.
