The so say Squirrel proof feeders are…
The so say Squirrel proof feeders are most definitely NOT! After just a couple of months the ingenious little critters learned to get their teeth under the lids and flip them off and nose dive down the columns… I resorted to gorilla taping lids on. Rather than give up they persevered and managed to manoeuvre the cage from the main cap leaving it suspended on its hanger whilst they gorged themselves on contents from the cage now crashed on the ground. They could well match the Honey Badger!!! Useless cage design on many counts.

WESTLAND COMPOST
This company is more commonly known as Westland but for some reason they do not wish to be listed under that name. They manufacture many garden products under different brand names, the most widely known commodity is perhaps compost under various brand names including Westland and Arthur Bowers. My complaint with them is that the stated volume of compost on some (if not all - I haven't measured them all) of their bags is misleading. My experience has been that even fluffing the compost up to allow air to expand the volume will not even get close to the volume stated on the bag. They claim that their method of measurement has been approved by Trading Standards so complaints need to go to Trading Standards as it is definitely misleading to the public just as the name of this company is. The compost I actually measured is illustrated on youtube under Westland Compost

Fantastic service from one of your reps. I was in garden centre in the northwest and spoke to a young man I believe was called Sam, who works for the company, who was there at that moment. He gave me lots of tips and excellent advice on individual products. My lawn has instantly improved since then!!
My bird feeder developed a fault
My bird feeder developed a fault, the company refused to replace it, due to no picture. Amazon refunded straight away. I will never buy anything from Gardman ever again, despite my garden being full of their products.

The last two items I bought were not up to their usual standard. The water tray is very difficult to remove from the metal holder and the fat ball feeder is hard to put back together. It is difficult to slot it back together correctly and I have sometimes found the feeder has dropped to the ground. It would also be useful to have a stand up hook instead of one which drops down.

I bought their Grow It cold frame from a local garden centre. It cost £80 and frankly it was appalling. Poor quality materials, untreated softwood, badly constructed and lightweight to the point that it is unlikely to survive the first breeze. Their customer service refused to acknowledge the poor quality and ridiculous price for what was a shoddy piece of work. Yes, you can always return it to the retailer as they suggested, but that wasn’t the point. Avoid this product and be suspicious of their other products.
Beware to MP John Innes Compost
Not pleased at paying extra for John Innes infused Multipurpose compost and finding a lot of stones in the mix, mainly small pebbles. You would not normally notice these unless, like me, you needed sieve some for a special purpose.
Utter trash
Easy Garden Obelisk None of the screws would go in so we had to use our own. The rings too small for the frame so we could only fit two of the three. The product came ready corroded.

Great customer support
Great customer support. I bought two Garman GrowIt perma-tunnels from this company and found that one was damaged on delivery. One email to the customer support address and they sent me a perfect replacement by post. No quibbles. All they needed was a photograph to prove the damage. The other perma-tunnel which I bought from them was fine.
