California Customers…no direct phone for claims

Water leak noticed at 7am. Called water company who showed up in 15 min. Verified water supply leak on home side of main valve. Called American Water Resources (AWS) at 8am. Offshore Rep. stated “unable to process claim.” Only able to “email the USA and await callback.” Meanwhile no water for family with children + grandchildren. 2 1/2 hours later no callback. Saw the text number from AWS to all the other poor reviews. Texted it and received an alleged “Emergency claim hotline number; 833 983-3007.” Same result as all morning; unable to help bar another email sent. >>Edited<< upped from 1 star to 3. Callback 5 hours later. Will update as progress unfolds.

Unsanitary and life Endangering

American Water Company charges hundreds each month for water and plumbing line protection, but the service is terrible. Sewage coming into our main living space with our son who has cerebral palsy and no where else to go. On hold for hours and the overseas reps barely comprehend English, you have to repeat things 3-4 times. Then they assign to provider who doesn’t service greater Philadelphia Pennsylvania. Call back on hold for over 37 minutes more and they state, “The back office is looking for provider.” Finally get a provider who says we will try to get you on the schedule for emergency service tomorrow (this is 1:45 pm). Completely unacceptable for emergency service.

I wish I could give zero stars

I wish I could give zero stars. Worst service and actively caused damage to my home. All calls go to a call center. Normally it drops the first time or two I call, sometimes the wait is more than an hour. The call center call quality is terrible and impossible to hear or understand. It took months and dozens of calls to get my property management added to my account, and they still would not provide them information. They charged me triple for the $50 "copay" to have a plumber come out and refused to reimburse them, claiming they'd be a "credit on my account for future service calls." This was never honored. In addition, they failed and refused to send information on my my claim being denied and, when I called, assured me some of it was covered. The call center representatives have no ability to send email or anything in writing. In the meantime, the leak continued for one month and caused substantially more damage. I have never received any information in writing explaining the denial of coverage, reimbursement for the copays. I plan to stop coverage and file a lawsuit for the negligence and incompetence resulting in further damage to my home.
