SCAM! Don't do business with these people. You won't talk to anyone and won't be covered. I filed a claim on Nov 29 2022 and received a claim number. Almost a week later, no update. When I tried calling and speaking to a Calif. rep all I heard after being on hold for 30 minutes was f bombs and a female talking to her boyfriend or someone. Then the line went dead. I will have to pay for this repair out of pocket, but I intend to file with the insurance commission and take them to court for re-imbursement.

Where do they get information on people that they send mail to? I have never in my life owned any home. They have me down as being a home owner at my current residence ( I pay rent, yep have proof too) . So again what makes these people think I own anything? They got name wrong as well.

My first negative review on any company... I wish I was more diligent about this company. They actually have terrible reviews. I advise to please read the BBB complaints as they are all very similar. Research on them because they do get sued. DO NOT FALL FOR THE 4 STARS! DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY. They have LIMITED COVERAGE and how much is covered is NOT COMPARABLE TO OTHER COMPANIES if you even get it covered. If you think it's covered, read your policy again. THEY WILL NOT EXPLAIN IT TO YOU. MANY will tell you it's covered even after asking questions and then when something is happened, it just might not be covered. When it's an "emergency", there's no specific time they will get there. Yes, they will answer calls 24/7 but it won't get you service. I had an emergency where I couldn't use the water in my house but they messed up with sending the FIRST company the right paperwork therefore further delaying someone coming out to you. I wouldn't have seen someone in TWO days but I found out BY MYSELF that the plumber company was TWO HOURS away from me. I had to call multiple times just for one person to finally get me a plumber closer to my house. Then you have to wait AT LEAST another day before any work is done because THEY have to approve it. How ridiculous is it that I had to take a shower outside my house and drive elsewhere to use the bathroom until they decide when to help you. (Yes, I could've gotten a hotel but I waited for home insurance to approve hotel reimbursement PLUS I have dogs to take care of. This all requires coordination and you have to work with what you got). By the way, they won't call you to tell you they won't fix it and neither will they give you a paper trail to tell you why they denied your claim. It's really to protect themselves because they're not looking out for your best interest, just your monthly payment. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS HORRENDOUS! The probability of getting someone who's nice enough to help you is slim and generally you get someone different EVERY time you call and they make you repeat your problem before trying to help you...but again...they won't help you. When I asked to speak to a manager/supervisor to speak about my concerns, they said they would "email a supervisor" for a call back or "the supervisor is in a meeting". This is EVERY time you call. By the way, I still have not gotten a call back. It's been days already. One employee actually laughed on the phone and hung up on me. When things get difficult, they hang up on you or they say they'll transfer you but really they're putting you on hold before hanging up. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY ON THIS COMPANY! I can't even explain the horrible experience within this review. Bottom line. PICK ANOTHER COMPANY! I really can't stress this enough.

Horrible Experience
I was told by the city that I had a leak in the main water supply line running through my front yard. I spent hours over several days trying to connect with AWR to see if they would handle it. After about 3 days they said they did not have anyone in my area that could inspect and fix my problem. But they assured me that if I hired my own person to deal with the issue that they would reimburse me as soon as I submitted proof of payment. Well, a month after submitting my receipt I was told, "We have carefully reviewed your request for repayment of the out-of-pocket expenses you incurred when you hired your own contractor to perform plumbing repairs at your property. We regret to inform you that we are unable to honor your request for payment." Certainly not AT ALL in line with what I was told at the beginning of this fiasco. Dealing with American Water Resources has been a disaster from the beginning. I basically threw away the (approx) $500 I paid them for an annual membership - $500 which could have gone towards fixing the problem myself. Save yourself from being scammed and avoid AWR.

American water resources(AWRUSA) horrible company. Don't ever go with them. I called them since 10/18 with no call back. Customer service no one knows what their doing. They denied my claim. Called Whitney supervisor so nasty, rude, unprofessional, hyper. I called today & they claim I don't have that protection which they could have said in 10/18. Wouldn't recommend this company. There's no number to call corporate to report their actions. Pathetic company
