Worthless policy

In September 2023 had a water line leak. My back yard looked like a lake and no water pressure inside. I called my plumber and he came out the next day and replaced water line. I called this company to file a claim, not knowing that they pick their own plumber. I was told that someone would call me. Four days later someone from AWR did call and told me that they could fix it on October 4. When I told them it was already fixed they sent me a reimbursement form. I obviously could not take pictures of before and during but I send pictures after the repair was made and also a picture of some of the pipe that was damaged. Other than the call in September, AWR has not contacted me at all. I called in October, November, and December. I was always told that everything was moving along and to be patient. On January 12, I called again. They told me that they had sent me the wrong reimbursement form and would send me another. When it was received it was the same form that I sent in in Septermber. I called eto see what was going on and this is the first time I heard the word 'denied.' Evidently my claim was denied in October. I was told that someone would call me and explain it all to me. That was five days ago. No call. I have had this insurance since 2016. I trusted these people. It was nothing but a scam from the very beginning.

Scam

My husband was going to sign up for this program, however, I told him to wait because I wanted to check it online to see if it was legit. I think everyone for the reviews because after I read through everything and found out, they were not associated with any utility company. Definitely showed red flags. Be careful with what you sign up for especially when they want to do an automatic withdrawal from your account, I am so happy for everyone’s honesty that I picked up everything and threw it in the trash. Always do your research. We will find the answers that you want from real people and not the company.

They’ll screw you!!

I called to get assistance and I’m told that a year ago (11/2022) a credit card charge was rejected (they billed a defunct cc), but they’ve been billing me and I’ve been paying every month since then. But 1 unbilled unpaid charge from a year ago (with no email or other notices that it was unpaid) means I can’t get any service until it’s paid. AAARRRGGGHHHH!! Avoid this company at all costs!

I have two accounts and the price went up 30% on both of these. I asked the rep why and he just replied everything is going up. The offer 50% of the rate on both accounts but I was so mad, this is price gouging. Weird how you can call and get the reduced rate. I refused the offer. I can't believe American Water has their name associated with this company.

The offer/brochure I received in the mail used the AMAC letterhead to make it appear the offer was coming from a trusted source. Sneaky B.S. I'm glad I double checked the reviews so now I won't give this "offer" a second thought DONE ❗️

American Water sold American Water…

American Water sold American Water Resources to an investment firm called Apax Partners LLP in 2021. As part of the deal American Water and Apax have a rev share deal where American Water does the billing and collections. Because American Water pushes auto-pay and paperless billing this creates an opportunity for Apax and American Water to raise rates and change people's plans without their consent; thinking that no one is really paying attention - it is a tactic that works well. Additionally Apax tries to stop people from cancelling and American Water helps them by not allowing you to cancel thru them. It is a very deliberate plan to rip off American Water/American Water Resources customers. If you have been scammed by Apax/American Water Resources (and if you signed up then it's most likely that you have been) I would encourage you to reach out to both the Utility Board and Insurance Regulatory Authority in your state. And please do yourself a favor and set yourself a reminder to occasionally review your auto-pay bills. AWR owes me about $300 that I will likely never recieve

I’m actually surprised by all the one…

I’m actually surprised by all the one star reviews- I’ve used AWR for my house as well as my rental property. Yes their customer service sucks. However when my rental property had a leak in the water line it was covered by AWR and only cost me my 19$ fee that I had been paying for a year or so. They had someone fix it right away, rip up the concrete out front and also fix the pavement. Granted that was 5 years ago. They also fixed a waterline brake in my house that I was selling days before I closed . They were hard to deal with ( AWR not the plumber) but again only cost the 19$ a month I spent- rather than the 5k it would have cost
