Good for none complicated treatment?
I booked an appointment online. I received a text message confirming, then a follow up phone call in the morning to confirm the appointment. All good! Then I went along 5 minutes before my appointment time and waited for a good 10 minutes before a dental nurse came out and asked if I had an appointment and they said they didn't know I was coming. So I waited another 15 minutes. They were nice and apologetic and said it was because I’d booked online. Let me give some background that I attempted to tell the Dentist. The only real teeth (roots) I have left at the top are one with a crown and three holding in a five piece bridge I had done 15 years ago. I have two mini implants (o-ring type). One of the teeth on the bridge I had a root canal last year and it failed and is bleeding constantly and is now very loose so the bridge is starting to pivot and is being held in my the other tooth, though feels solid back and forth (if that makes sense). I know there is limited time left on that so I thought it is time (at nearly 60), to get a top denture in and put an end to over 40 years of constant dental work and losing teeth. I feel blessed to have got this far with the top teeth so I’ve no complaints. I detailed this with the Dentist. However, the dentist said it would be illegal to take out my remaining teeth (not sure she really means illegal though), without trying other options first and that I should consider a apicectomy instead and maybe implants if I have the money, because if those work it would be better than a loose top denture (although, I already have one of those!!!), she gave me a high five (that felt a bit awkward tbh, though I'm sure just to be friendly). I did say the implants would be too expensive and I was told a couple of years ago I can’t have those because of bone loss and would need additional surgery for those to take. In the end I was sent away with a piece of paper with apicectomy written on. To be fair, the dental nurse did keep trying to say that they can perform these, however, the dentist seen insistent of just giving me the name of the procedure on a piece of paper, gave another high five and that was it. Do I want a top denture? Of course not. Will it be wobbly, it seems so. However, I can accept that, believe me, I have suffered worse over the years of dental problems. As it stands I’m at risk that this bridge could just fail at any point which is a constant concern. However, I do know that I’m past doing even more invasive surgery just to save three roots and just want to start getting used to the inevitable top denture. I’ve not named the location or the dentist publicly because: a) It was not an unpleasant experience. They were nice people, however, not sure if I was listened to really and despite the dental nurse did saying someone would call the following day, that never happened. So I am now calling around other dentists to see if they do an apicectomy(?) b) I believe it was sincere advice and guidance, but given without really listening to my problems, the issues I have faced and how tired I am of trying to keep hold of a loose bridge! That is not the fault of anyone though. Would I recommend? Well I can’t directly because they would not treat me so I need to continue my search for a denture. However, I am sure if you have no teeth and it’s just a case of giving or replacing a denture then I’m sure they would get the job done for you, and the costs seems reasonable and the 3d imaging sounds good to me to get a less wobbly denture.

Brilliant!
In all I had an amazing experience, considering I had over 30 teeth extracted in one sitting. It was not recommended but was my choice as I travelled 200 miles to get there. I only had 4 visits from initial consultation to extraction and fitting of my new dentures. The dentures were designed by Spencer but he allowed me to choose shape, shade, design etc. Following extraction I did bleed for a few hours but it was totally pain free. My hat goes off to Val the dentist for her swift professional method that prevented swelling and discomfort and Georgiana the assistance for her calming and caring nature. It was about 4 months before I could eat properly, I just blended or mashed my food until I could chew. I am 5 months on from my surgery and I can honestly say I love my dentures. My top one is held in by suction but the bottom is balanced by my new found muscle control. I dont use adhesive and I remove them twice daily to clean with soapy water then antibacterial wash. Other than that I never remove them, I even sleep in them, probably not advisable but once I did take them out and went shopping then realised I didn't have my teeth in 🤣🫢 mentally scarred me! Mind you, I didn't spend much cus was keen to get home before anyone recognised me!! The dentures are very good quality, stain resistant and very strong. Thank you Denturly
Need to be more honest about timescales
My 1st appointment was 22nd Feb 2023, on arrival I was greeted very well and when faced with the technician during the consultation I was advised after a brief discussion the dentures would be ready by end of March. Fantastic!! I was further impressed with the fact they took my jaw impression and 3D scan immediately to begin the process which is normally done on the next visit. The next visit dealt with a cast impression and agreeing tooth shade etc.. My next visit 22nd March, I arrived expecting dentures to be ready but was advised it will take another 2 weeks which goes into April. Not happy!!! What sold me the idea of going to denturly was the Facebook advert I read originally which stated a 2 week period for the dentures due to using a 3d scan. My technician has advised he will try to speed up the process but I am disappointed and felt misled about the timescale. I will further update on my next visit
