Learning tips and tricks will only get one so far. Going through problems with Peter and getting one to one help in problem areas is helping my child get closer to her goal of 1500 SAT than any other program we’ve tried before.

Frequent requests to change or reschedule sessions. Little help with strategies overall. Little to no accountability with assigned and or recommended assignments to prepare for follow up sessions.

They are absolutely ridiculous, my daughter got the program for 8 hours a month but they only gave her 4 hours month. Then charged me another $499 when she hasn't even completed the first 8 hours. I called multiple times and they kept repeating the same thing over and over. Would never recommend this to anyone.

I am a struggling college student studying for my state exam in Education. I was paired with 6 tutors in a span of a month. I’ve had many tutors never show up to their scheduled meeting or little to no communication about scheduling a meeting time with them. I had spent more time speaking with customer service than I did with my tutors. Within the first month, I realized I had made a huge mistake working with Varsity tutors as I was getting nowhere. Customer service granted an additional month and recommended a class that was offered in relation to the state exam. I took this option since this company DOES NOT GIVE REFUNDS. A class that was supposed to be made up of 12 students ended up being a class of the Instructor and myself. I went through the entire class by myself showed up to every meeting just to find that the Instructor who led the class would be sarcastic, unprofessional, and ruthless. I was committed to these classes twice a week as I was looking to get my moneys worth. This was my last resort to help me pass my state exam. After wasting several Hundreds of dollars on this nonsense the instructor on the last day the instructor put me under the impression that I shouldn’t even take the test because I couldn’t answer the practice questions correctly and I would fail because I didn’t take the assignments seriously. I worked two part time jobs and went to school full time and still managed to go to every class with Varsity Tutors because I care! Although it was a struggle to get all of my assignments completed; I would eventually get them done every other day. He would get so nasty with me when I didn’t complete one of the homework assignments. Of course, you get in what you put out. My schedule would simply not allow it. I realized I felt very uncomfortable by the way this instructor threw a tantrum at anything that upset him on my account. After a year later (Sep. 2024), I realized I was a paying customer who was being mistreated and once I expressed this to customer service they told me they would give me another free month. Unfortunately, I did not pursue this as I was emotionally abused enough. When it was time for my test after 3 months of studying… sure enough, I failed. After I closed my account with Varsity Tutors they preceded to charge me another month! I emailed them and they would not give me a refund as they DONT DO REFUNDS, so I disputed with my credit card. I to this day am Traumatized about this test and when I study I relive the torment of working with this Instructor. Varsity Tutors should vet the people they hire before having them work with young people because if I didn’t know any better this would have really messed me up to the point where I wouldn’t be able to continue to pursue my degree in Education. Thankfully I still have a little fire left. Please do yourself a favor and walk away.

AP chem is hard to learn, but the tutor helped me w/ my questions tremendously.

I had a great experience with varsity tutors! They did a great job pairing me with a tutor that best matched my learning style. I was able to gain confidence in my test taking skills and pass my exam! My tutor Lesly did an amazing job with visuals and explanations of content that i struggled with. She helped me with tips and tricks on remembering concepts that I was able to apply during my exam without stressing. She is very encouraging and positive! The sessions were structured very professionally and she was always on time and organized!

This tutor I have now listens understands and then shows me the different ways and I love that when I have specific issue that I want to see if it can be done on an excel program, I give him the graph or papers I want to organize together a few days before my lesson and then we do it together and he shows me different ways on how to use if in excel.

My tutor, Janet, was a wonderful tutor! She provided me with valuable testing skills that I lacked beforehand. It was a great experience!

My son really enjoyed learning from the tutor and said he is a great tutor.
