opal/diamond - very delicate chain
I purchased the opal/diamond pendant for my wife's birthday in February. I liked the piece itself was very nice but quite delicate. The chain / clasp was either faulty and came off or was weak and broke. It slipped off my wife's neck the 2nd day she wore it. Sad thing is I haven't even completed paying for it :(

As many, I was skeptical about buying jewellery online because of a previous really bad experience at another online store. Plus, not being able to see with my eyes the gemstones added to the anxiety of being disappointed (especially because i am an almost certified gemologist and I value beautiful natural gemstones). However, online reputational research and exhaustive reading of customers’ reviews provided me with enough confidence to give a try at Angara online shop. As this was my first experience with Angara, i selected a “small” item to test the quality and the service. I was attended by Jessica Sequeira all along to my full satisfaction: reactive, helpful, supportive and problem solving oriented. Outcome: i was satisfied with the purchased item (bezel heart shape pink saphir ring), the quality was there (true to description), the delivery time was ahead of schedule and the minor problem I had with the amount charged was solved in 24 hours (which I honestly did not expect). Packaging was also very appealing. I will certainly continue testing Angara products before I go for more expensive jewels (the selection of Angara is amazing if you like classic out of time jewellery). Therefore this review will be subject to updates. So far, so good. At this stage, I would recommend Angara to other hesitating customers. Update: after a first good experience, i tried a more expensive item. Well, Angara is not OK for expensive items: the quality of the stones is not satisfactory and far from what they commit on their website. I am totally disappointed also because they try to make you feel ignorant around stone quality even when you tell them that you trained as a gemologist, so you know what you are talking about! (I attended the Paris school of Gemmology in France). So i now have a three stone ring where one stone is chipped (in addition to too many inclusions) and they did not accept to change it. Customer service is reactive, maybe it is really the one thing positive that Angara can still boast. As for payments, I have been systematically overcharged, and they never fixed the problem. So watch out you bank account! I have been refunded every time thought. As for custom made requests, well, be aware this service is not available for European customers. You will be overcharged by 20% because of EU import taxes from the US… which the customer service just omitted to mention. So the quotation was totally misleading. Too bad, i was really impressed by my first experience and I had planned to become an Angara long term customer, but today i question myself because i still find their design attractive, but fear the quality.
