Whats the point of a chat window if…

Whats the point of a chat window if there's nobody to respond. Very frustrating. Staring at a chat screen is probably worse than listening to hold music. AVOID Customer Service Non Existent.

I had an item delivered that was faulty. I emailed Downlights Direct (rare in itself, so many companies make it difficult for you to communicate with them) and got a swift reply - within three days a replacement arrived. Great efficiency and responsiveness, most impressed.

I first ordered from Downlights Direct…

I first ordered from Downlights Direct about three years ago and they provided excellent service at a good price. I recently had a problem with a faulty light and it was dealt with in a friendly and efficient manner (thanks Harrison!) and was resolved with no cost to me. I would happily recommend them and will certainly use them again myself.

Bad service and poor refund polciy

Ordered some kitchen downlighters and was later advised by our electrician that not needed. I asked Downlights Direct for a refund of £48.12 and initially was told no refund as they have a 30 days return policy. It had been around 2 months since I ordered the lights which were unopened and still in the boxes. After my email they ageed to refund me minus their handling fee of £12.32. I queried this as I had to pay for post but they refused to review this high cost for simply receiving back their stock at no cost to them.

LED strip light project for kitchen

Had numerous e-mail exchanges with the support desk (Edward Partington) regarding a LED lighting project. They checked the tape, transformer, controller, remote control etc were all compatible, drew up a pro-forma invoice for all the parts, and even did the soldering for a small fee. All now up and running and looks great.

No communication about items not in…

No communication about items not in stock for two weeks. Called them and was told I have to wait another 3 weeks for my order said I would like to cancel order they send out part of it just to stop me from canceling Can't finish the job now for three weeks avoid ordering from then web page said over hundred in stock at the time of order

Fabulous customer service

Back in February 2023, I purchased a number of downlights and at that time, I was impressed by the website, competitive pricing and speed of delivery. Unfortunately one of those downlights has recently become faulty and I had cause to contact Downlights Direct, requesting their assistance. Despite sending an email late afternoon, I received a positive response from Matt that evening, providing details of a no cost replacement that had been scheduled for dispatch immediately. It is heartwarming to find a company that bucks the trend, and actually strives to provide a positive customer experience, and, not just at point of sale. Needless to say, if I require anything in the future, I know which company I'll be using. Thank you Matt and well done Downlights Direct.

Receiving items no issue however if you may need to return go to another company

Received order no problem, unfortunately the Downlights were not what we wanted so returned them. The company received the return on the 14th September and we still have not received a refund despite chasing twice. The first time we chased they had lost the return so had to locate it, the second time we chased we were told it was processed on 5th October still no refund received, had to open a dispute claim with credit card company to move forward with it.
