We've been using Voipfone for nearly 3 years. Mostly positive experience. Startup costs are relatively low for a small business. Some of the benefits are similar to other voip services but still worth highlighting - able to choose a number with our local code, able to add a freefone number etc. Support is generally very fast to respond and usually quite good at helping with accurate advice and sorting an issues - not 100% but no great complaint here. The service has been very reliable (although we have very low call volumes so could easily miss outages were there any). Call costs are clear although still seem expensive to mobiles compared to what's available on mobile tariffs these days. I've not comparison shopped voip services for a while however so take this with a pinch. Not so good - The marketing materials say a soft phone can be used, but any instructions only relate to a very old version of the recommended product. Softphone support seems to be there as a marketing sop rather than meant seriously. If they don't have confidence in softphones, they should just be clear about that up front. In our experience however, Zoiper works fine. We;ve stuck with v3 (.9 now) per Voipfone support materials, but did try v5 briefly because of a feature we thought we needed - it worked, but we didn't use it for long. Call recording - this can be done, but is not as smooth as we'd like. As we have low call volumes, it wouldn't be cost effective for us to pay for Voipfone's cloud storage for recordings, so we want to download them instead. This has to be done once a month (which is fine), but it's not possible to download all at once even though it's possible to delete all at once. I hope they'll improve in an update to the portal (which is relatively new version so this kind of thing is perhaps understandable). It would also be great to have an option with call recording to play a message telling callers that calls are being recorded since this is a legal requirement. There's a workaround which is to set up IVR which can play a message) and ask callers to "press 1 to speak to someone". We then set a very short timeout before they are automatically put through. It works but is a bit clunky. We had an odd problem where we found one day shortly after the new portal was launched that the bulk of our configuration had simply disappeared. There was no voicemail message anymore, no business hours settings etc. We reported this and it was supposedly escalated, but never had a response. Review rating would have been higher had it not been for this. I find it worrying that a software error which deletes configurations is not apparently taken more seriously.

Always great service. The Voipfone support team can't be praised highly enough for their excellent standards of support. Support queries are usually resolved within 2 mins by email. Can't fault them!

Trustworthy voip service!
Voipfone is a trustworthy voip service you can trust. I've been using Voipfone for years and except a couple of times where we had some issues with call diverts and auto recharge of the account, it was generally very reliable and efficient. They're prices are also very fair. Overall a great voip service.

Brilliant service
Brilliant service. I have a home fibre internet connection not with BT and wanted a phone solution using VOIP so I could cancel my BT phone line. Voipfone was excellent and affordable. The account was so easy to set up, and instant to try and test. I bought a local STD number and a box to use my existing house phones it all arrived the next day and simply worked in every way. Cant rate this highly enough. The service was faster, cheaper and with more functionality than the company my broad band provider recommended.

Having been using Voipfone for over 10…
Having been using Voipfone for over 10 years for both business and domestic use (predominantly for incoming calls) I rate the company, their service and their customer service/technical support as top of the game. Free calls to other voipfone numbers, being able to dial by account number but my absolute favourite features are their network answer phone which e-mails voicemail and the 166 telemarketer line and black list. Set up at home to drop all international and non-geographical calls cuts down virtually all junk calls and should one get through the 1471 services allows the number to be added to the black list which is invaluable at work to get rid of the endless telepests. Always nice to find a customer or business contact also using voipfone though can initially be a little confusing when the phone rings with their account number as caller ID and extension number if set up but it also means you then have a direct line to their phone avoiding automated switchboard etc. :) :) Invaluable provider if you use VoiceOver I.P. for telephone calls.

Problems with automated topup payment
Have been keen on voipfone and using for around 5 years now in a busy office with growing number of users. Our service dropped midway through a major client call today to my great dismay. On contacting customer services it was confirmed to relate to the automatic top up payment - for which the ‘trigger level’ was set to £5. Since the call was more than £5, the call dropped partway through, even though the account then processed an automatic topup. This seems a bit counterintuitive to me and not a great service level for a business user.

We've been using Voipfone for a couple of years now across two separate offices and the service and support has been exceptional. We had a minor issue today and David from the support team remoted into the system and did a fantastic job of solving the issue. We would not hesitate to recommend this company to any other business using VOIP.
