West Yorkshire windows installed our…Conservatory
We have been very pleased with our West Yorkshire Windows conservatory. Over a number of years while under the warranty we needed to report a few issues. Customer service on each occasion has been excellent, and service engineers Mark and Alan friendly and professional. We would definitely consider using this company again.

Beautiful New Windows
I had my new windows installed by West Yorkshire Windows Ltd a couple of months ago and I must say that the windows are beautiful! I have an old stone built house (19th Century) which had eleven timber single glazed windows, some of them very big (biggest unit is 1700 mm wide x 2000 mm tall). None of the windows are what you would call small. Initially, James from WYW came to check the existing windows, and promptly gave me a quotation whilst he was there. He patiently explained all the alternatives and was not pushy in the slightest. After a lot of investigation I decided to go with WYW and went for uPvc windows with astragal glazing bars which retain the Georgian style look. They weren’t the cheapest quote I had, but the specs of the windows and the guarantees were very good. The surveyor came a week or two later (sorry I've forgotten his name) to take exact measurements and he was totally professional and friendly. Soon after, a final date was set for the installation, and I was dreading it. I've been in the building industry for over 40 years as a Quantity Surveyor and I know what can (and does) go wrong. However, the first fitting day soon came around and once the first window was done I knew I was in good hands. The fitters, Colin and Robbie, got cracking and by the first day had done one of the most difficult areas (three sided bay window - three very big full height windows). Their work was excellent. This went on for four days until they had finished all eleven windows. They turned up early, did a full day’s work and left the house clean and tidy, each day. They were totally professional and I must say that each and every window looks fantastic, inside and out. No damage whatsoever to existing finishings around the windows, in fact what they did made everything look better! They also took great care with the protection of furniture and carpets as they were working and dust was kept to a real minimum. On the basis of my experience with them, I have no hesitation in recommending West Yorkshire Windows for double glazing. If they could do such a fantastic job on my old house, I am sure they could pretty much do anything. Thanks to West Yorkshire Windows for doing such a great job from start to finish, with extra special thanks to Colin and Robbie who were indeed fantastic. Time will tell on how the actual windows perform in the future, but judging by the professionalism shown to me by West Yorkshire Windows so far, I don't think I have anything to worry about.

Excellent customer service and warranty follow up. The team are polite friendly efficient. I would not hesitate to recommend or use for future work. Although we had some small snagging from installation 4 years ago, team did not hesitate to put right.

Absolutely shocking company! Avoid!
We had an orangery built on the back of our house around 8 years ago and haven't yet experienced a day when there hasn't been an issue that needed fixing! West Yorkshire Windows must have been out to my property over 20 times and still we're nowhere nearer to having the issues resolved. So far we've had leaks on the adjoining wall to the house, leaks through the roof, leaks above the door, leaks through the side of the windows and they've even had to come out to correct bad brickwork. Every "engineer" that comes to the property blames the next person and says "oh we haven't been told about that other issue, we're just here to do this". Resulting in a lot of wasted time for myself and my Husband. I can see this isn't the only review along these lines. Avoid this company!

We had three houses in 2015 fitted one…
We had three houses in 2015 fitted one with windows and door. Which has had no problems but it was straightforward. The others two one large joint orangery one with bi fold door and windows and doors. We decided to fit an orangery to ours and our daughters house which is joined on. They do single block between the dividing wall I said at the time this isant right due to fire issues they didn’t listen. The plaster was told no to drill in a certain place as the main YEB electric came in there and he didn’t listen he blow him self off the chair but was fine. We have had issues after issues the orangery cracks after cracks in new build yes granted but not to the extreme we have had the leaking roof time after time the windows leaking the doors not closing and locking but shock no once can come out straight away. They cut in too stone window sills which they was told not too. They replaced the orangery roof as it was leaking every where. We had the new roof put on and we decided to redecorate both ours and our Daughters as she was having a baby a few months in it’s leaking again. I then ask for compensation as it’s damaged our expensive wall paper and the paint work. In replacing the roof and replastering they damage my oak wood flooring but they don’t like being told they are at fault. Iv had two builders out and a roofer they all they the orangery was completely wrong it should not have been done like this the pitch no boxing section. The edging. And when you tell them they tell lies saying they will get guardian roof company in but they blame coronavirus and travelling. The door handles going rusty it’s been endless issues now my orangery is leaking yet again in different places it’s a complete utter night mare. The director Matt will not contact you after leaving massage. Trying to get someone who knows that they are doing would be fantastic at this company but it’s like a Micky mouse job. They drill and glue the orangery roof tiles to stop leaks the lead they put up is not done correctly. I would advise any one not going with this company as you are just on a merry go round going round in circles all the time. After six years it’s a joke the damage they have caused the upset the stress. And continuing to blame the customer for the doors not working correctly and the paint coming off on a window sill it’s the customers fault please tell me how we no once go’s near the window sill and it’s only washed down with soapy washing up liquid as advertised they there team. I wish I could get my issues and problems fixed once and for all.

Repair
Had windows, doors, fascias etc fitted 3 years ago. Had a problem with a downpipe. Mark visited today and fixed it. He also took time out to have a look at my French door which had dropped slightly and was sometimes jamming. He was very speedy and helpful. Much appreciated.

Poor workmanship
If you want windows that let in water then I recommend this company, we had a solid roof put on our conservatory and they had to fit a frame and new window above the patio doors. First time it rained water came in they came out and bad mouthed the first installers then allegedly put it right. We’ve had them back 3 times before the leaks were fixed “we hope”. Unfortunately the water ingress caused damage to shutters and lifted the flooring I pointed this out to WYW and they refuse to except responsibility for the damage. First excuse I should have informed them earlier I pointed out I did, Second excuse it was an “act of god” I pointed out it was an act of poor workmanship. Third excuse it was suggested I should have kept a visual on the work they carried out in case it wasn’t fit for purpose in so many words. As I’ve said if you want windows that do not keep out the elements then this is the firm for you. In response to WYW’s reply. Had the windows and frame been installed correctly and sealed the gradual damage caused to the shutters and floor would never had occurred this comes under negligence of failing to fix the problem over the 6 year period and failing to diagnosed were the water was coming in from. It’s about taking responsibility’s for the poor fitting in the first place, as stated had you done the job correctly this would never had occurred but some companies have no moral obligations or honourable intentions.

Shady practices
You would be forgiven for believing that a company that offers a 10 year warranty on their products can provide a product that will, in most eventualities, last ten years. Allow me to enlighten you. A conservatory is a great addition to most homes and the current planning regulations allow for a 9M X 9M extension without a requirement to obtain planning consent. So why wouldn’t you take advantage and increase the value and perhaps the appeal of your property prior to selling? Hats off to West Yorkshire Windows for capitalising by making their warranty transfer policy an unnecessary part of the conveyancing process, I’m sure it has saved them a fortune and if they are seeking cost savings rather than customer satisfaction they score 10/10. Paint me cynical if you will, most people do but their requirement to make a warranty transfer part of the ever so stressful process of moving home is designed with the sole ambition of avoiding the cost of remedial works when their product fails and they do fail. I have inherited (for want of a better word) a West Yorkshire Windows conservatory within the “10 year warranty” period. It leaks, there are gaps in the seals, the guttering has not been installed in a fashion where gravity has any chance of dispersing rain water and the fascia board fixings have failed. I’m advised by West Yorkshire Windows’ customer service representative that “things don’t last forever” I’m tempted to leave you with this direct quote but that would be remiss of me. Having accepted that they have legally and in my opinion successfully structured a way of negating their warranty liabilities, I did mention this review would be forthcoming. Their answer “we will deny that you are a customer” Well done West Yorkshire Windows it looks like you have every angle covered. That said, I’d suggest that you might want to consider adapting to a world where it is remarkably easy for people to share their experiences. Edit: Further to the response hereunder. So there it is; the statement that ownership has an impact on the validity of a warranty. The only consideration should be; has the user or users misused the product during the warranty period. Unless of course, West Yorkshire Windows offer a brand new 10 year warranty to the new owner following their “thorough site visit to ensure the products are in an acceptable condition” Of course they don’t why would they. Any “misuse” of their products should, quite rightly, remove West Yorkshire Windows of any responsibility to enact remedial works, a change of ownership not so. They kindly refer to “no service calls at all during the last 9 years” and this does require explanation on my behalf. I imagined that the conservatory had, given its dilapidated state when I purchased the property, been in place for far longer than a 10 year warranty period. I only discovered the actual install date yesterday and yes my conveyancing solicitor is at fault. It transpires that the conservatory that looked 20 years old was in fact 4 years old at the time of purchase. I could expand further regarding my thoughts on West Yorkshire Windows’ warranty policy but instead I’ll leave the reader to consider the question: Why would a company go to such lengths to avoid reasonable responsibility for their product if they truly believed in their product’s ability to last ten years?

So pleased I chose this company for new…
So pleased I chose this company for new windows. From the very first conversation to requesting a brochure to the fitting of the windows the staff with whom I have spoken with have been so lovely and professional, courteous and have listened. The window fitters arrived within their allotted timescale, they were very polite, they didn't mess about the windows went in in two days, not too much mess. James who came to give me quote was also lovely, he listened and answered any queries I had, also andy who came to measure up and the fit my monkey tail handles was also really lovely. The biggest reason for choosing this company first of all was the fact that once I had made an enquiry they didn't hound me, there was no constant phone calls or emails pressuring me, the whole experience with west yorkshire windows has been exceptional, the staff have been great and the windows look fantastic, so thank you all very much. I would definitely recommend them and will definitely be in touch when we want a new door.
