i had my old slides digitized. The process was simple and easy. The job was done in the time frame promised. Some slides were bleached out due to age and the scanner did not or could not do much to improve them. However, I was able to improve them when I got them back with my computer's picture editing software. The only confusion (perhaps on my part) is that when I was asked to review and accept or reject the digitized versions of my slides, I was told I could ask for an estimate of the cost to "restore" slides that I selected. I marked the slides i might have wanted restored and thought I was going to get an estimate of the restoration cost and have the opportunity to have some restored before the scanned/digitized slides were sent back to me. But I never heard a word about a restoration estimate before or after my slides were sent back to me. I'm confused. What happened to my restoration estimate??

Digitization was overall excellent. Service was very prompt. Easy to download the digitized photos. Very old Polaroid photos that were badly discolored came back to life! I liked the ability to send the photos organized in groups. They recommended additional restoration on one photo (for a small additional fee), but I didn’t see a significant improvement afterward. Made it possible to put together a “memories” photo book going back 50 yrs. Would recommend ScanCafe without reservation.

Great experience! Worth every penny. Only thing- just be careful - they will scan everything, so if you have items that are duplicates- just make sure to note that or remove them before sending.

Good experience with service. I had excellent interactions with customer service and I am satisfied with the scans I received. CS also accommodated my request to use usps to ship back the slides. I'm looking forward to using then again.
