I needed a consultation with a doctor whilst abroad and then as it turned out an operation. From my first call with True Traveller everything was made simple and the customer service throughout was fantastic. It is the first time I have ever needed any medical assistance whilst away from the UK, so when I did need it I was at a lost to begin with, thinking what do I do, until I made that first call. They were always checking in with me, making sure I was OK and if they could help in any other way. I initially paid for the consultation and I received the medical claim in my account the day after I had submitted the paperwork. The operation will be paid for straight to the hospital from the insurance so I haven't got to pay upfront which obviously helps as I'm not sure I could have afforded to pay first then reclaim. I 100% recommend True Traveller and can honestly say I will always use them.

When we phoned the emergency assistant team, the respondent was extremely helpful. She even phoned back a couple of days after the initial report to see if we needed any further assistance. The forms were easy to complete and the claim was settled within a day. You could not ask for more than that.

Dealing with AXA for them to pay the hospital directly was difficult. They also included a local representative so too many people in the conversations. Slow correspondence and stressful when already in pain during stay. The part dealing with True Traveller direct claim for the part I paid myself and had to claim back was seamless and totally no stress. My only comment is when you try to fill out the claim form online, completing the dates is difficult but as soon as you make it a PDF it works perfectly so it would be good to tell me to do that as frustrating for a while

I had a dental emergency whilst on holiday in Spain. A wisdom tooth started causing me pain and I had to have it removed. When I got back home I filled out the claims form and added all of the supporting documentation and emailed it off. I received a confirmation of receipt immediately and a day or two later my claim had been processed. It was a fast and straightforward process. I'm very happy with true traveller insurance.
