Failure to replace defective kettle

I purchased a kettle in February which developed fault. Spoke to customer services who agreed to replace the item. I returned the faulty kettle in the prescribed manner and followed up with e-mail. Called customer services who confirmed receipt and promised replacement would be despatched. Made repeated calls to Customer Services throughout summer and was promised call backs that never happened. Finally in October after further call I was advised that Scotts of Stow, Expert Verdict's parent company, had gone in to liquidation back in March and was now owned by Wool Overs and that I should contact the Administrators - Resolve - made several attempts but phone never answered. As Expert Verdict and Scotts appear to be trading as normal I have made a further call to Customer service who once again promised to call back. I am still waiting. This is appalling trading practice. Who now owns this company? as I understand Wool Overs have themselves been taken over.

Where’s my dvd player?

I ordered a dvd player online on 21st Sept 2023 and have still not received it as of 4 th Oct . I called their premium rate number to ask where it was and kept being told it should be arriving soon.Rang again yesterday,3rd October to be told that the item had just come into the Wharehouse and that it should have shown it was on back order when I ordered it and it would be another 10 days before I received it.I received no email communication as to what was happening during this time .I’m very dissapointed with the service I’ve received from this company.They took the money, and didn’t seem to care after that.

Taken my money and not sent the order for 3 weeks

The website said my order would be despatched in 3to5 days.Three weeks later they have had my money for 3 weeks and the parcel still hasn't been despatched. It's for a birthday present. If I ring it costs me 7pence a minute which I object to and no reply to email.I won't use them again.

Stole my Money! I paid over £90 for 3 frames, that were never sent. When I chased it was told that they didn’t have the frames to send and would refund. Have been promised refund several times over the last few months and it never comes through. Scammers

Absolutely shocking service. Elderly grandparents ordered in February and are still waiting on their items. Every time they chase it up with ExpertVerdict they get told a later and later delivery date. Avoid at all costs!

Still sending catalogues to someone who died 6 months ago

My late Mum spent hundreds of pounds buying useless, overpriced items from this company which I only discovered after she had passed. I used the Bereavement service which informed all mailing companies of her death and requested her address be removed from any mailing lists. Every single one except Expert verdict and associated companies have since stopped all mail to her address but Expert verdict have continued sending numerous catalogues to her address. It’s upsetting enough to keep going back to take care of her house without having these catalogues in her name constantly greeting me on her doormat as a reminder she is no longer here!!! I have tried on numerous times to get through to customer services to inform them of her death and despite being on hold for long periods of time, I’ve never been able to get through. Incidentally this isn’t a free phone number so I have accumulated many charges on my phone bill yet still keep getting the catalogues through. I’m guessing that if you’re placing an order with them they answer the phone promptly. Or maybe not if they’re charging elderly, vulnerable people a lot to ring them up with orders because lets be honest these likely form much of their customer base. Every other company I have dealt with has been compassionate and helpful but not Expert Verdict.
