One star is too much for this company.

One star is too much for this company. Clear business took a direct debit payment for water that has not been used. They said in April 2024 after the company name switched from unicom that my water was an unmetered supply. This is not correct and I have had a water meter for several years previously to this date. My water bill went from £12 a month (Small workshop with one tap and one toilet) to £95 a month as they say my water is unmetered supply! They also said that I owe them back payment and gave took nearly £1600 direct debit before telling me. I have contacted them multiple times and I cannot get the issue resolved or any money back despite them now agreeing that I have a meter! When ever I phone up I have to explain the situation again to the new telephone operatives who have no clue about the case. This now January 2025 issue unresolved no sign of any money back that was wrongly taken. Avoid this company!

Lisa helped us, thanks!

after many failed attempts to progress with an account matter I finally spoke to Lisa Bate today who helped me understand the issues with our account. I managed to communicate our difficulties to someone who actually tried to help. Many phone calls and online chats had not resolved our issue and we were ready to close our account and take our business elsewhere. If it had not been for Lisa's help, we would still be going round in circles. Thank you Lisa. It is much appreciated!

Got to be the worst company ever.

Got to be the worst company ever. Left this company after 3 months of service (water) as they failed to set me up an account and attempted to try and charge me emergency contract rates. After 20 emails they finally agreed it was their fault that I was out of contract for so long and agreed to discount £300 off the bill but then started billing me late charges etc because they had spent months in dispute with me. They've now started billing me for months of service 5 months after I transferred my supply. They were ringing me every day harassing me. I've asked them about 30 times to send me a correct final bill but they keep messing it up and just seem to enjoy getting various teams to contact and harass. Never choose this company they really have no idea how to manage a business. Six months on and I'm now filing a complaint with the Ombudsman.

Absolutely bad company that pretends to…

Absolutely bad company that pretends to be a telecom , a broadband, a water, a gas and a power company but in reality they are JUST a middle man broker without ever disclosing they are getting a commission out of every bill from you ! They used to be called UNICOM and changed their names to avoid showing all the negative experiences. Their sales people do not communicate with their after sales billing nor customer service people to get them away from any sales claims they have made. They are very quick at hanging up on you if they find you got a case and they would absolutely NOT get your issue resolved ! They take 4 or 5 days to even several weeks to even get your phone numver forwarded which is ridiculou when any other real operator you can get it done instantaneously ! Avoid this fake want to be all but is NOTHING but a rebilling bad customer service and bad experience company ! It is almost like getting into a scam !

Avoid this energy supplier at all costs

My recent experience with them has been nothing short of a nightmare. Despite regularly submitting accurate meter readings, I was suddenly hit with a bill covering an eight-week period. Their explanation? That I hadn’t sent my readings. This is blatantly false, as I’ve always updated my readings on time, and I have records to prove it. What’s worse is their approach to billing. Not only did they charge for two months in advance without prior warning, but they also applied a mix of inflated standing charges and excessive kWh rates. It feels as though they’ve intentionally made their billing practices complex and unclear, leaving customers struggling to understand why they’re paying so much. I’ve never had such issues with other providers, but this company seems to thrive on overcharging customers wherever possible. Their customer service is appalling. When I reached out to address the discrepancies, I was met with vague excuses and an unwillingness to investigate further. It’s evident they don’t care about their customers or resolving issues; instead, they seem focused on deflecting blame and maximizing profits. Even escalating my concerns internally led nowhere, which only added to my frustration. After this ordeal, I’ve also raised my concerns with Ofgem, as I believe their practices verge on unethical. Energy providers are supposed to operate transparently and fairly, but this company is the exact opposite. If enough customers report such issues, I hope Ofgem will take action against them. In conclusion, this company doesn’t care about its customers, offers no accountability, and operates with questionable billing tactics. There are far better suppliers out there who value transparency, accurate billing, and customer care. Spare yourself the stress and choose a provider that actually deserves your business.

Don't deal with Clear Business; they're awful

I changed electricity supplier to Clear Business in April this year. I set up a Direct Debit to pay. In November, I got an enormous bill (Nearly £6k!) from my previous supplier. I checked my bank and Clear Business had never collected any money from me. I attempted to phone then several times, I emailed them and they ignored me and when I did get through to them on the phone, I advised that i was recording the call and they immediately cut me off. I can't think of ever having worse service from a utility company and I would advise anyone to steer well clear. Clear Business had failed to set up my new contract even though they had sent me a new contract. It cost my business almost £2k more than it should have for electricity supplied on an emergency basis by my old supplier over six months. Don't deal with them. Worst experience imagineable.

They are awful

They are awful - their systems do do work and customer service is terrible. Impossible to record non-working telephone line online or over a weekend.

Unclear Business

Clear Business sends mail on how to spot a scam From my experience Clear Business is a scam!!!! As expected an AI generated response The fact of the matter is You guys have so many departments promising to resolve issues When they won’t or don’t have the authority's to give a refund for what is obviously a shared water supply. Really you only care to preserve your monopoly You really shouldn’t exist!
