Brilliant service at reasonable no move no fee

Excellent service from Brevis for my property sale. Upon quoting, I could call Brevis and discussed regarding my enquiry even at around 6:30pm đŸ€©. The signup is simple and straightforward. After signing up, I was given access to an online portal, which instructs me all the steps & documents I need to complete. Sam, Lauren and later Shamima (after Lauren left the company) have done their best to assist me. My emails were promptly replied (most within the same day unless it is too late). All this superb service is coupled with a very reasonable fee (absolutely no nonsense add on service fees - even third party). Even better is their worry free no move fee policy - much appreciated in case of the worst scenario. Again many thanks to the team at Brevis. Keep up the good work! Will definitely use Brevis again if I could buy my next property in near future

Appalling service

As first time buyers, Brevis completely ruined our experience and made it an extremely stressful one. From not informing us that our account manager had left the company, to lack of communication, transparency and care, even when we were about to be made homeless having handed in our notice on our rental property. At one point we hadn’t heard from our conveyancer for a month, and at another, we were told that we’d need to get separate legal advice from another legal firm as they weren’t leasehold ‘experts’ (bearing in mind from the get go the offer on the property we were buying was only valid if a leasehold extension was obtained, and therefore all known from the very beginning). Further to this, having not had an update on when we could expect to exchange and complete (having been delayed for over a month), we were sent our legal bill - we couldn’t believe it. Even worse, we weren’t made aware that Brevis is actually closing (which explains the awful experience we had) until we were at the end of the process - something I’m sure would have been known for months, and had this been communicated with us, we would have avoided the company at all costs. Brevis aren’t actually taking on any new clients at the moment, but if they resurface in another form - I’d stay away. We ended up getting a discount on our legal fee, but if we’re honest, we would have rather paid full price and got the level of service we were promised.

Would recommend Brevis Law

I was assigned Lauren Jarmain-Chew, who I found extremely helpful and communicative at all times. Lauren explained everything at each step of the way. Lauren was always very quick to answer any questions I had and responded to e-mails and phone calls promptly.  Lauren kept me up-to-date throughout the process, and the dashboard made it easy to check on the progress and complete any necessary tasks. It was quick and easy to sign up to Brevis and I  found the overall pricing clear and reasonable. would thoroughly recommend Brevis.

Does anyone works here?

We bought a house 8 months ago, and everything was relatively smooth. However, we needed to do a lease extension so we started the all process 8th month ago and paid for it. It has been 4 months that we have been chasing them with no answer. No one got back to our 10 last emails (we incleaded POC but also director and help@) , and no one is picking up the phone. So I am wondering if this company is still in activity...

There was full transparency and excellent customer service provided by everyone. Everything was done in a timely and very efficient manner. They provided me with full confidence and trust. Highly recommended and very good value for money.

Fantastic experience!!

Fantastic experience!!! No hassle at all!! Really professional people who listen to you and working for you. I had spent a while looking for conveyancing solicitors cause there were very various routes and reviews, as you know not very good to you as well. I was buying small flat for first time, so I wanted trust people for reasonable price. Brevis was the best choice. First of all very affordable quote with no hidden extras. Secondly their website to register it was so clear and straightforward that I knew I was with professionals at that point. Honestly it was so easy and eye friendly to fill out the questionnaire, pleasure. In the beginning Sam introduced to the process and explained me kindly what get ready for and to expect. Then I dealt with Shamima my account manager. Shamima has great understanding sense of client, as well her messages and phone conversations and advices were clear, very kind and to the point. I am so happy to deal with her, it was a great pleasure. However the process dragged a bit because of the third parties, sellers solicitors which I was informed and we could only chase them. It happened once or twice from plenty where I didn't response to my email but with next try I got straight answer with polite excuse. Oh and few times their office was busy, but assume this business is very busy at times, and I am not only client. They will come back to you don't worry. Overall I am very happy to chose Brevis for my first move and if there is any other coming I will definitely chose Brevis again. Will recommend to my friends as well if they need.

Steer clear of this firm

Steer clear of this firm, the solicitor acting for me left the firm and they closed my case without mentioning anything. Im trying to sell my property and for the past 2 weeks my sellers solicitors have been waiting for Brevis to send out the contracts and no one bothered telling me that the contracts weren't going to be sent as my case was closed, so now I need to find another solicitor to try and salvage the sale before I lose my buyer...talk about amateurs or what. I'm not happy at all!!!

Incompetence at a Premium

The sign up process was very easy, and they’re easy to get hold of when you call, but apart from that Brevis have been incompetent throughout most of the house buying process which is disappointing given they were more expensive than average. Here’s why I’ve taken off this many stars: 1) They failed to give me a heads up about the minimum 10 working days delay between submitting a Lifetime ISA withdrawal request and actually receiving the funds. This is despite me asking every single week if there’s anything I needed to do to speed up the process. My account manager seemed to know very little about the LISA withdrawal process. 2) Despite paying them £45 as a “LISA Fee”, Brevis did nothing to retrieve the funds apart from signing the documents. I had to contact my LISA provider, fill the forms and liaise with them. What’s worse is it took 4 attempts over 4 days for them to sign the document correctly adding to the delays. 3) I was lead to believe that my contact at Brevis is a qualified solicitor. When it came time to sign the forms, it turns out they were just a paralegal. This explained why she was not good at answering my questions and seemed unsure of her answers very often. What’s worse is she signed the LISA withdrawal form despite it saying you need to be a qualified conveyancer. The form was rejected by my ISA provider as a result. What’s even worse is that she signed her emails with “residential conveyancer” which is FALSE. Her supervisor is the actual solicitor who “signs off” her work i.e all my legal work was being done by a paralegal! 4) They didn’t do basic checks such as bankruptcy checks and land registry search against the property I’m buying till a few days before completion. 5) Even if they don’t charge you for separate lender representation, you’ll pay for it with extra delays since you’re adding one more party to have to chase up. 6) My vendor tried to lump me with £75 for an apportionment of “major works” that the flat’s management company did before I set even foot in the flat. I asked my case manager to reject this apportionment. Her response was to ask me to consider paying this ridiculous apportionment!! She clearly couldn’t be bothered to do her actual job. The vendor accepted that I didn’t need to pay this straight away. If I had listened to her, I would have unnecessarily paid £75.

Conveyancing

I signed up to Brevis in May 2022, once I got an offer on my home. I got a few quotes at the time and the Brevis quote was clearer and the breakdown of costs clear. In addition I like that there was an online dashboard (although this was not as good as expected and other companies use these too). When I signed up I found the information even before allocated to an account manager useful and clear in terms of informing the other parties. At the beginning communication was quick, clear. My allocated account manager was fine: polite and respectful although to be honest I could have done with more communication and updates, either by email or the dashboard (much of my communication came from selling estate agent). I found this lack of updates the biggest problem. Change in the property I was buying in June was seamless and the change with my old and new mortgage provider seamlessly managed. Paperwork exchange was mostly good: email/ computer, which might not suit some, but suited me fine. The dashboard was not really updated, but most documents were exchanged through email/ dashboard at the same time, which was quick and suited me. Unfortunately the final contracts needed a wet signature. I picked a local company to make things like that better and cheaper.....except Brevis (and its building) do not have letterboxes, not very helpful when I am also working full time! If posted it would have taken another week probably for Brevis to receive my signed contracts. I completed in December which was later than the other parties wanted. But at least it happened before Christmas. I would (and have) recommended Brevis to others, but with the explanation that communication/ updates are not good and need to be chased, and the need to post the final paperwork. Other than that I was happy with the support provided.
