Are NT short staffed?

Are NT short staffed? I joined early this year and opted for the £15 gift card. Took over a month for part membership to arrive - no gift card or handbook or email. Emailed on a couple of occasions as I realise that phoning them is a 'no no' as they don't answer. Eventually I did receive a reply and was told to respond to that email in future, was promised that I would receive my gift card and handbook within 14 days which was on the 5 May. Replied on the 25 and still to receive a reply so sent a quick reminder today. Why do people make promises and not keep to them? It seems that I am not the only one who is disgruntled and I hate incompetence.

ST Michael's Mount (Not Dog Friendly)

It seems now that the national trust has taken ove management of the Mount you can no longer take dogs over as has allways been possible before. Total joke shame on you. So instead we walked out to the gate when the tide was out and then back nad the Trust got nothing and we saved £30. I then went back tomy fantastic hotel and spent the money there which welcomes dogs. Its does beg the question who is running the trust these days and who exactly is it serving either way shame on you!!!!!

Beware Life Membership change

Beware the terms and conditions of Life Membership have changed without warning so you can no longer take a guest. This huge change in benefits occurred sometime in January when the IT system was updated. I was unable to buy Life Membership at all during the IT shut down. The website at the time I first tried to purchase still detailed a guest as a benefit of Life Membership. I have not had a satisfactory response by contacting the trust.

Long waits for helpline to be answered

As I write this, I am waiting for the customer services phone to be answered. 21 minutes and counting. It's the second time I've tried this week, and judging by the comments here, I will be not be getting through any time soon. The call is charged at "local rates", so they must be raking it in! Update: I actually got through after 25 minutes this time. The member of staff was polite and friendly. I will now have to wait to see if the problem I raised has been resolved. Fingers crossed!

Customer Service is inadequate

It is impossible to speak to someone at the National Trust Customer Service helpline - it doesn't matter when you call - on how long you are on hold E mails are ignored Very disappointing - the trust is not short of money - it should staff its Customer Service Centre It is clearly aware of the problem and does nothing

Ambiguous cancellation rules

Appalling service. Uncontactable. Ignored our emails. Made things as complicated as possible when trying to cancel. Told us we’d not contacted them early enough to cancel for next year’s membership when we’d given 1 month notice. Took over an hour to resolve on phone after 3 emails previously. AND we kept our membership running thru covid to support them! Not happy.

Can't contact them! Useless National Trust

Can't contact them! We need to contact the National Trust to cancel our membership, but they don't reply to e-mails or phone calls. Happy enough to take our money, but not to actually be contactable! We've cancelled their Direct Debit, but I reckon they will be quick enough to chase our non-payment!

Very poor Customer Service

I’m really disappointed with the National Trust as I cannot contact them. I’ve tried ringing many times, had to wait on hold for over an hour and still no one answers the phone. I’ve emailed them 3 times and still no one replies. We’ve been members for a number of years and now want to apply for senior membership. On the web page you cannot renew for senior membership , you have to ring their phone lines, and then … no one answers. What am I supposed to do? I am really questioning whether I want to be associated with such a poorly organised organisation.

Have failed to send membership cards yet have taken money. No response to email sent over a week ago. Very poor. Will be cancelling if no response.
