Not all sites even listed

Although the national trust get given land etc to make money with they don't even have the decency to advertise every site. Lady on the phone said they only concentrate on the locations with buildings so they can still collect money from you. How bad is that ?? !!

Being a paying member is not worth it

The way national trust treat their members has massively gone down hill. During covid all of the National trust places closed. Memberships were not cancelled or put on hold we were still expected to pay. Then when national trust sites did start re opening they started using a ridiculous booking system with no priority bookings to members who had been paying their memberships for months and months when everywhere was closed. I'm now shocked to see that members do not get any free entry to any of the christmas events. If you are a member and want to visit in November when its classed as a christmas event you have to pay £18 per adult on top of your membership!! For non members its only £2 extra... total rip off . Have cancelled my membership.

Money grabbing National Trust have now…

Money grabbing National Trust have now gone too far, by hiking up the entry free to an unrealistic level at Dunham and Lyme Park We definitely won't be renewing membership.

Absolute disgrace

If I could give no stars I would . Have just been made aware of the new charging policy at Dunham Massey and Lyme Park As a result we will not be renewing our membership. The impact of this change means that when we take out two grandchildren fir a much needed run about in the we open air that this will now cost us £4 per child. Absolute disgrace . I’m so sick of organisations using the pandemic to line their own pockets

Way overpriced now.

Way overpriced now. Had to pay PER PERSON rather than for car, liked it used to be. Cancelled membership and won't return. If this is a way to recoup costs, I suggest a rethink.

National trust cancelled membership when I complained

My wife and I have been members of the National trust for many years. In May I was asked to comment on their performance and because of its change to a woke stance I stated that we would not renew our membership at the end of September 2021 - Now I find that instead of cancelling automatic renewal as advised they actually canceled our membership in May - Was this spite because we respect our National hero figures like Churchill

Overpaid staff, poor service.

Seventeen members of staff paid over £100,000. Chief Executive on £200,000. Time taken to send out membership cards after taking payment two months and counting. Temporary cards only last a limited time, we are on our third renewal each necessitating a phone call. No apology on website or on here. Time for the Charity Commission to take a look?

Very Poor Customer service

I joined the NT on 4th August and as yet have not received anything inspite of being charged for thre months membership. I contacted them twice w by email and received no reply. I have phoned twice, each time being emailed a temporary membership which lasts for three weeks. I am therefore phoning them every three weeks which is not only inconvenient but they charge for the calls and keep me on hold for ages. I will be ringing again next week for the third and last time as if I do not receive my membership package I will be cancelling my standing order. Disgusting customer service and I see from previous reviews i am not alone!

Nostell priory. Not impressed.

I recently visited Nostell priory with a friend, I am a member but seriously thinking about cancelling my membership. We toured the gardens and lake at an extortionate cost of over £12. Which includes the enormous house, and in my opinion over £12 is a total rip off. The house which is quite impressive from the outside but a massive disappointment inside. Most of the rooms are bare of any period furniture. So it's doesn't give a reflection of the living standard of the period. One particular bedroom with just a 4 poster bed and an elderly lady volunteer was giving Information, we happened to step a little further into the area and were greeted by what I call rude abusive behavour....( Get back over there now) in an aggressive manner. We had accidentally stepped over the white plinths on the floor, no signs saying please keep this side, not plainly obvious. If the N.T. management prefer to employ volunteers of that low standard you can expect to.lose membership & as a charity you need to up your game. I mentioned thie situation the the girl where you pay outside, she said would I like to speak to a manager but declines as I would write an online review. The rest of the house staff were very helpful I may add. Also I waited over 4 months to receive my membership card, and only by threatening to cancel my membership. Which arrived very prompt. As a .ember I'm not impressed at all with the N.T.
